I have a TL 00 and i drove the 02 TL-S and i also felt less of a pull in the type s but i think its due to a more consistant power band. iwas expecting some kinda warp speed kick i didnt feel it. but by the #'s the Tl s is around .5 or more seconds faster in the 1/4 mile

I was at the Auto Show and looked very closely at the 04TL. I found it way more cramped than my 99TL. I can easily fit four adults in my TL. However, in the 04TL, me and two other friends could barely fit in there. WTF?

I never drove the 04TL, but I have kept up with them on the highway.

i have to disagree, i think the 04-05 TL's seem to have way more interior room compared to ours.

When I meant fitting four adults. I mean in the back seat. We couldn't even fit 3 folks in the back seat of the 04 style.

sorry but thats not correct. according to any car magazine, there is a huge loss of interior space in the newer TL's. its also to lose weight and sportier performance. the newer TL also gets smaller outside, the height, width and length all has a decrease.. about .5-2 inches all around.

yup. it looks as if the interior in the newer TL's look bigger.. but when i actually sat it in it seemed alittle more crammed. i dont know about the numbers on MSN.. but it seems like it got bigger in some areas and smaller in some areas. in Motor Trend, in an article i read that the new TL's are alittle more crammed and has a stiffer ride comfort. but the new TL is just all sports sedan now. the seats are too stiff, and the wrinkle effect that it gets after two months is just nasty

Check your IMRC :

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=actuator

Thats a link to a video of the actuator working.

As far as the '04-05 TLs go, they've got an edge on horsepower, but they also weigh slightly more and on the auto tranny the drive by wire system reduces stress on the tranny by removing throttle at shifts. It makes the tranny more reliable, but it also seems to shift slower.

For sure the 6spd TL is going to be faster than a stock TL-S, but the auto '04-05 TL should be about even with a TL-S, especially from a roll where the extra rubber on the '04-05 TL won't help as much.

i m sorry i just dont buy that a tl-p can pull harder that a tl-s it most likely because your riding not driving. my tl-s pulls nice and fine when i need it to ( going from a manuel, honda to a auto honda was a change though, that tl-s should have come 6 speed manuel ) but i would think that the newer 04 -05 are faster stock, newer is better, but they do feel smaller inside though, my tl-s feels huge inside, more that enough room.

Cars feel different when you're in the passenger seat versus being behind the wheel. Next time, have your friend drive your TL-S while you're in the passenger seat - you'll notice the extra punch, especially as the revs build. However, the cars will feel a lot alike around town in stop and go traffic.
