LONG STORY, BUT THIS IS WAT DEALERS DO TO MAKE US MAD!!!

Please excuse my wordings but i'm so damn pissed. I will no longer be driving the TL, it belongs to my parents. I'm buying a Civic Si (EX in states) coupe w/ Group option (a/c and abs) w/ spoiler. I made a few calls todays to see if they can beat my price quote from another dealer. My first quote from autobytel was $25,895 CDN dollars. I made a call to one dealer and says he yea he can do better for a new 2002 car. So i go there and he gives me 25,750 for a 2001 and said he thought it was 2001 and can't give that price for 2002. So I jetted. Made a few calls (actually to every dealer reachable) and one dealer said they can do 25,300 for 2002 Si-G w/spoiler. So I just went there and the guy tells me he can't get it for that price. He tells me that it all depends on how the manager feels and that he would of gave it for that price yesterday but i didn't come on the same day. But i called today not yesterday so the guy acts all stupid like really, i swear it was yesterday and all to cover up the manager price part. Before all this, walking in I thought i was buying a 2002 so i told him if i go 2001 can u go cheaper so he says of course. so remember he said 25,300. so i told him $25,000 for 2001. He brings it to the manager and says no, I just wanted to get it over with so i said fine 25,300. Goes back, comes back and says these prices are insulting is wat the manager said. (sumthing else that meant insulting but u get da picture). I was like wtf, u gave me that price and now u say its insulting. Pisses me off rite there. I go home, made another call to another dealer that says he can do better. he tells me i don't think i can do that price so i asked wat price for 2001. we talked and talked and offered $25,000 and says come in and i'll give u it. I said guarenteed? and he says yes yes yes. So tell my dad, he doesn't believe it and calls the dealer, talked w/ the same guy and says i can give it at 25,700 to cover dealer cost. Talk to him again and says yea he did the math and says can't do it. I was like f*ck, again. I would of went there for nothing. So conclude I hate salesman, they are the worst kinda people to get people to the dealer. Excuse me but i'm not trying to say all but i'm just really pissed off. Makes me just wanna take the bus instead. Or maybe not hehehe

I think we all agree with you on this one. The majority of salesmen out there don't know their mouth from their a$$hole. They are like a puppet for the manager to play around with and the consumer get screwed in the end.

yah they do whatever they can to get you into the showroom... i went to a bmw by my house and got a quote on a 325 and got everything all set then she tells me there is a 6 month wait, so i said i will get back to her and i call another bmw dealer and they guy says we have it but not in that color but we will have one in 2 weeks, come into the showroom and lets do the paper work. i go right away because it was almost closing time and i get there and the guy tells me nope we have a 8 month wait... i was like wtf why did you tell me you have one in 2 weeks on the phone? freakin jerks...

That is exactly why i don't trust anyone unless i have what they are telling me on paper. When I was shopping around I would just fax dealers a sheet with what I wanted to pay and if it was negotiable to change some numbers and fax back or call me and we can discuss then fax me the final copy of the offer. I told them if the offer was right I would come in that day and buy the car. Done! It was that simple. It works at most dealers, but others disregard it...no matter what you do people will get screwed at the dealer...its just a matter of how much they screw ya!

Yes, as the old engineer's adage goes: If you didn't log it, it didn't happen. Make sure you get everything in writing before committing to a deal. Salesmen will do anything to get you into the showroom.

Wherever you go, don't deal with Sisley Honda on Yonge just north of Finch south of Steels. They sucks, and got attitudes, that's all I can say...

Mr TL i've gone shopping around for used cars, but dad doesn't want used cuz he says they are messed up or sumthing if they are cheap and if too much he says rather get new car, get the idea? The first place i went to was Sisley, the guy doesn't even look like he wants to sell the car, like buy it or leave don't waste my time. I gave him my quote and he gave me back his and says he doesn't even kno if he can get it at that price, but on the phone he's like oh yea i can beat it. he tried to suxer me out of a spoiler for that price but i didn't let him win. But the reason i didn't get the car is cuz on the phone i was always talking about 2002 Si-G auto w/spoiler but wheneva i get there they think 2001, Si-G no spoiler or manual. They are not people anymore, they are crooks.

it happened to my friend once. He got a quote on the phone and he went there. Of course, same story here. He later on got a second call from the same dealer doing the same sh1t. So he threaten to sue the dealer and it ended up with the head guy at the dealership to settle it. One word "feces" whom they are.
