I am dissappointed with my TL
I have had to have the front brake rotors turned twice and then finally Acura replaced the front rotors. They tried to charge me for it each time and I had to bitterly fight with both the dealership and AcuraUSA.
The transmission hasn't been right for the last 10,000 miles and my warranty is getting ready to expire and they won't do anything about it.
I have several rattles inside the car that the car dealer can't replicate of course.
My rack&pinion steering had to be replaced, I had to take the car in three times telling them there was something wrong with the steering(loud popping noises that were easy to reproduce). I finally had the shop manager sit in my car and turn the damn steering wheel.
My tail lights randomly go out and I have been stopped by the cops with a warning. Replaced bulbs but still having intermittant problems.
Acura's arrogance on their customer service line (unbelievable experience).
Traction control is worthless, it never kicks in when it's suppose to.
Everyone here says there car is fast, mine is a dog. It looses it acceleration after about 10mph and I usually get burned by other 6's and smoked by 8's.
Many other little problems as well.
I have Acura and will never buy another car from them. I previously never would have purchased a domestic car because they suck as well but I'm more patriotic because of 9/11. I gave the Acura to my wife and put an order in for a new Supercharged Harley-Davidson Supercrew, at least I'll be able to beat most cars on the road and if something goes wrong I won't be upset because that's part of buying American.
My recommendation, get the extended warranty. I'm looking for one on Monday, I know my tranny isn't going to last.

well sorry to hear that you are having such a bad experience with your Acura. Have you performed reqular oil changes? 15K and 30K check ups? A well maintained TL should not exhibit what you described.
Don't wash your car while the brakes are hot, it'll warp your rotors.

Oil Changes with Mobil 1 every 3,500 miles, I'm 32 and baby the car. I have never washed it with hot rotors. Acura has a service notice on problems with warped rotors. Acura says it's the material used in the brake pads putting to much friction on the rotors. The dealer replaced my rotors because they said that many cars were still coming back after they replaced the pads but not when they replaced the rotors. He said that he believed Acura is using a different alloy in the rotors. This may have been all BS but I'm good so far. My problems with my brakes started at about 14,000 miles and have continued to be a problem until 46,000 when they replaced the rotors.

Why would washing your cause your rotors to warp? That means everytime we get a flash flood storm here in St. Petersburg (75 times a year) we would have to grind our rotors. BTW I've had many 20+ cars and I have never had as many problems with them as I have with this Acura. I have never warped a set of rotors on any car I have ever owned.

How old is your car now
I've owned it for 2 yrs and 2 months, it's a 2000 and I have 46/47,000 miles on the car. Most all of the miles are highway miles, very little city driving. I take my kids back and forth between St. Pete and the Eastside of Orlando (actually Sanford/2-3 hr drive). At the 15,000 mile service I was having a problem with heavy vibration and loud popping when turning the steering wheel. I don't remember the actual mileage when it started happening.

Actually it's Acura not the dealer being arrogant and difficult. The dealer has been mostly superior to other dealers I have had to deal with. I have put over 5,000 miles on loaners while they have worked on my car. They even rented me a car when the car went into service for 2 hours so that I could go Christmas shopping. (Crown Acura in Clearwater) I am still under warranty for about 3,000 miles and will be looking into an extended warranty. Honda is only 36,000, thank God Acura is 50,000miles.

Either you have a lemon or you are hard on you're cars. In any event, I would ditch this car. Also, based on you're profile' you are 31 years old, but have had 20 + vehicles? If you owned vehicles since you were 16. this means you averaged more than one car per year. Are you telling us the truth, or do you have too much money. If its the latter, sell the Acura, take the loss and get another manufacturers car.
BTW, I have found Honda easier to deal with than the big 3 manufacturers. If you push Honda enough' they will help you, you just need to scream loud.

BLEXV6, yes 20+ cars
Actually 20+ cars is a conservative estimate and that doesn't include 5 motorcycles, and 5 boats. I current still own 5 cars and two boats.
Trust me I have screamed loud and they literally screamed back, NOT OUR PROBLEM!
2000 Acura TL
2002 Supercharged HD Supercrew
1966 Mustang 'K' Code Hi-Po 4spd GT Fastback (restored)
1968 Mustang Coupe ($24,000 personal restore which you can see on web)
1972 Corvette Convertible(restored)
1999 18ft Regal run-about
1996 32ft SeaRay Sundancer (It's on my boatlift so I don't need a car to toe it.
No I don't have too much money, I spend all as soon as I get it!
Here's the list of cars I found pictures of, these have all been titled in my name and yes I have lost a small fortune on them over the years. when I was younger I only kept cars for 6-12 months. The only other new car I have owned longer than the Acura was the Miata and I used it only for racing. I only put 16,000 miles on it it's entire life, it was also my favorite car of all time, Lexus SC400 was second.

1994 Toyota Landcruiser
1995 Geo Metro (don't ask, lapse in judgement)
1995 Nissan Pickup
1997 Izuzu Rodeo
1995 Camry
1995 Miata (14psi intercooled turbo)

Sorry to hear about the problems youve had w/ your TL. This is begining to sound like a disgruntled TL/TLS owner's support group FWIW I've been having various minor problems w/ my TLS too. enough to make me seriously question Acura's perceived reputation for quality. If I knew I was going to have these nagging problems I would have probably bought a 330 in the first place.
And its good to know I'm not the only nutcase trading in cars every 6 months ;-) Spent a small fortune myself this year. I guess that'll all come to a stop when there's a wife in my life ;-)
