Will the HVAC module from the TL w/ navi work in a TL w/o navi if the navi head unit is not there?

Basically i want to get the NAVI dash and put just a LCD screen in it for DVD's and whatever, but obviously i would have to switch the HVAC.... So will the slimline HVAC work?

 

I don't think that will work. Some of the AC controls are controlled through the Navi.

 

The plug is the same but you have to go in through the navi screen to to do some of the a/c modes. I know I did a navi conversion on my 2002 tl.
