Question How Are You Doing In The Snow

Since alot of us have had snow in the past few weeks how is everybody doing with there TL?
I got caught without my new snow tires on.
We had just a few inches of snow here in DC.
but I was going to put my snow tires on for the next couple of months.I did not get a chance to put them on yet.I will get to it tomorrow first thing because we might get some more tomorrow night. The long range forcast for us here in the Mid-Atlantic region is more snow this year. They might be correct because we don't normaly get snow before Christmas. They are calling for more tomorrow & maybe some Christmas Eve.The last time I got snow tires for my Accord back in 96 we had the blizzard.

I'm also in the WashDC area and my TL has finally seen its first snow. Yeah! With mild acceleration going up an already plowed, hardpack and slightly icy hill this morning and the TCS light on the dash flashed once. I didn't feel or hear a thing, ie no slippage.

Bring on the winter! (Snow tires? I'm running with the stock radials; never even thought about doing seasonal tire changes.)

Car did fine in the snow and ice we had here with stock tires. I do miss my 17's and Pirelli summer compound tires though. NOT switching over seasonally is unimaginable to me - the stock tires suck in warm weather.

BTW, I found some ice patches and hit the ABS just to keep the pump and fluids moving around, and it takes forever to stop on ice with ABS. There are times when I wish I could shut it off, such as in dense snow where stopping distances soar with ABS. But the lawyers in US saw no way!

In Chicago, we are getting hammered with snow and cold. Most major streets and highways are cleared, but some of the local streets are marginal. The TL has performed well in all conditions. I have the stock tires and just slow down a little. The TCS has come on, but not very much. I really appreciate the bun warmers!

Just use some common sense and give yourself some extra spacing from the car in front of you. You don't want to wreck your baby. The only bad part is the highway salt grime. My car is so dirty! I gotta wash it somehow. I may break down and take it to the dealer for a free wash, I'm getting desperate!

Im in Miami, and this damn sun keeps staying around so there is no snow to test out the traction. Sorry guys. . I think i will go outside in my shorts, without a jacket and no shoes and sit outside for a bit and get a tan.

Thumbs up

Car handled great, but now it looks like i've been off roading with all the sand and salt all over it! I think i'll wash her when the wheather clears, and just drive my pick-up!(which slides all over the place ) And leave my car in the garage!

Cool

Here in Pittsburgh we got our first real tast e of snow too. My driveway is about a 12% grade and my old RWD car always required that I plow the driveway to get up it. The TL goes up the unplowed driveway straight as an arrow thanks to the TCS. It actually climbs the driveway as well as my Jeep Wrangler. All this with new stock tires. I haven't gotten around to deciding which snow tire I'm gonna buy yet. Hats off to TCS!
