how to take off rear view mirror?

I just got my new (free) replacement mirror in the mail today, but I cant seem to get the old one off. I cant really tell how to do so either. Has anyone done it before?

because of this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78061 - I noticed the problem with my mirror and was able to get a new mirror. thanks to all who posted on that thread

I know that there are a just a couple screws to take out after taking off the overhead lamp light cover. It shouldn't be hard.

I got it. The screws have nothing to do with the mirror. you have to take off the light/sunglass holder - that was the easy part. then unhook the electrical connector for the mirror. Take off the 2 small black trim pieces. then you will see a small vertical cutout in the front of the top part of the mirror (you will see what I mean when you do it). put a flat head screw driver in that hole and push...hard. it will help take off the pressure and let it slide down the glass.

It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I'm glad I got it done
