Talking how to roll fenders and tls

Hey guys, can somebody tell me the best way to roll my fenders on my TlS. I just got the rims, Konig Livewire 18 x 7.5 +45. Tires are Nitto 555 235/40/18. I know it shouldn't rub according to all that posted on the tire and wheel section but just in case how do I roll the rear fenders.

Welp, the search button on the left of this screen will help you much in finding out what you need to know. I would have to say this fender (rear only) rolling seems like quite a chore.

I found all of the following searching on "fenders and rolling":

This thread talks about renting tools to do it, videos, and the possibility of getting the work done in a shop:
http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...ll+and+fenders

This thread suggests getting a shop to do it for as little as $100, and explains what exactly is done at a technical level.
http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...ll+and+fenders

This thread talks of using a baseball bat to roll fenders. Not kidding. I'm no rocket scientist, but this seems like a
bad idea. I included it for jollies.

Hmmm, maybe this bat thing is the real deal?

Anyways, hope that helped, and don't forget the 'search' option!

'02 TL-S. I have 235/40/18's on 18x8 wheels +45. You don't need to roll the fenders. I needed some moderate trimming of the plastic. place some masking tape alond the lip and drive around. Trim where you see the tire rub. I took me three cycles but they don't rub at all. I used a dremel and finished it with a utility knife. Be sure to wear some heavy gloves with the knife. it takes some effort.

heehee. I'm glad you do! My car is at 496 miles. It's getting harder and harder not to gun it off the line.

If you're not lowered you should be fine on 235 with +45 offset. If you're lowered, you're in trouble. I just put on 225x40-18 at +45 last week on my ride which is on HR springs, and I had lots of rub on the rear tires.

If you do get rub, you don't have to go quite so far as to "roll" then fender, which implies that you're actually creating a fender flare. All you need to do is remove or push out of the way the horizontal trim at the top of the wheel well. It's fairly obvious when you look at it, the fender is shaped such that it looks like the sheetmetal is about 1/2 inch thick, which is obviously not the case. You can either dremel it away (lots of effort and you should really seal it when done), or you can do the "baseball bat" trick, the purpose of which is simply to fold that trim over. I did it and it took me about 10 minutes and is entirely invisible. No more rub!

BTW, I am lowered with Eibach's. Only the plastic was trimmed. The metal lip was not touched.

Good info all around... I have a nice set of AT Italia wheels with Falkens, and they unfortunately rub when I hit a bump - I'll have to see if the roll method works for me!

I've resisted lowering the car because of this...
