How to remove scratches from windshield ?

![Question](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I've got couple of fine scratches on my windshield. Any ideas how to remove them ??
I'm also wondering-is it possible that I made those scratches when I clean the glass ? (I use just glass cleaner and paper towel most of the times)

there are glass polishers out there , there is also a product called glass wax, it comes in a metal tin and it's pink with a red stripe, works very well on fine scratches and small imperfections that you can't clean with cleaners!!

Run your fingernail across the scratch and see if it gets caught in the scratch. If it does, there is no polish that will take it out. Gotta take your car to a professional glass place and see if they can use compound to get it out.
Either that or throw a brick through it and report it as vandalism.

Good idea about the brick, I'll think about it.
I still have no idea how those scratches get there. I have horizontal scratched about 5 inches long each plus 2-3 smaller ones.

paper towels won't scratch glass, but if you got debris like rocks stuck in the towel as you're wiping the glass then you can certainly scratch it.
Don't ever use paper towels or anything but 100% cotton towels to wipe plastic lenses though like our gauge cluster faces. Plastic lenses scratch very easily.

thats what I was gonna say -- just not so drastic-- wait til it rains out and is nasty --
Chuck a stone at the window the day after then just say u were on the freeway and a big truck kicked up arock -- (too yucky out to try to get him to pull over)
and get it fixed with ur insurance![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
ur premiums dont go up

I called couple of glass shops, none of them recommend to polish the glass to get rid of the scratches because it will create a distortion on the glass
So, I guess I just live with them and pretent that they are not there.
Going to think again about the idea of throwing brick on the glass and report the vandalism

I just had to replace my windshield due to a rock-induced crack. You should be looking at about $350 installed for an original equipment windshield without the "Honda" logo. If you want the "Honda" logo, be prepared to pay $1k.
