How to prevent your remote from being scratched?

I love the 2002 TL-S remote. It is really shiny and flashy.
But being made from plastic, it is very easily scratched. Just by sitting in my pocket, the remote is pretty scrached up already after a month. Anyone out there can offer some suggestion as to how to prevent it from being scratched up? Thanks!

Tell me about it, I dropped my remote once on my driveway and now the thing looks like a grenade blew up next to it.

I try to not have it in my pocket as much as possible. When I go to work, it goes immediately at my desk. When I go home, I put it on a hook. I also try not to carry change on the same pocket or have any other keys on the same remote chain.
