Arrow How to polish tail pipe??

I was my car religiously every week when there is good wheather. Detail the tires, etc..

But there is one area that I can't seem to get looking nice and that is the exhaust tips and the muffler. They have this yellowish tint to them that I can't seem to ever get off. I know there is some kind of polish for them or something like that. Anyone know of a good one?

Also, I want to clean the muffler itself, right now its this black dirty color. I have to keep these clean for now until I get my comptech exhausts. But when I get those, I want to keep them clean too..

Comments please...

MAG & ALUMINUM POLISH

This is our legendary metal polish. Mothers®' secret formula balances a brilliant shine with easy use for aluminum wheels and parts, brass, alloys and accessories. Application is just a matter of a clean cloth and a little elbow grease. Mothers® Mag & Aluminum polish is strong enough to put a shine to the most neglected metals and gentle enough to use on a regular basis.

P.S. It's good $hit..

I use Brass-O which was left over from my Army days. It does a pretty good job, depending on how badly the tips have been neglected.

I found this stuff called FLITZ its made in Germany and it works extremely well on the exhaust tips. Most likely any hardware store will have it.

#0000 steel wool does a real good job of shining up the exhaust tips....takes off any crap that is stuck on, and removes the yellowish tinge.

Everyone's got their preferred product. Mine is Eagle One's Never Dull. Comes in a big wad that is basically soaked in petroleum distillates. You just rip off as much as you need. It's the $hit. I noticed Mother's started offering their metal cleaner this way as well.

Toothpaste does work, if the corrosion isn't too bad, like a table lamp or something like that. It doesn't have enough cleaning power to clean a pitted tip.
