If so, then the law shouldnt apply to them. I believe those laws were intended for the bright yellow lens real deal fog lights. I would fight that ticket.

Not a problem. We need to get a meet going before the snow flies. I'll do this mod for anyone who shows up, since it takes me about 8 minutes to do.

I've wired up many after market fog lamps and the kits included a relay that would allow you to have the fogs on along with the running lamps, and when you turned on the head lamps the running lamps go off and the fogs stay on. When you put on the high beams the fogs go off. This seems to comply with the 4 lights on at a time law you all were talking about.

I like the fogs on with the running lamps at dusk, but my '03 TL-S won't do that. I'm sure there is a way to make it happen, using the setup I described above and still comply (re-wire a relay or install a new one). I haven't tried it yet or even looked at the electrical diagrams yet. Has anybody tried it?

I use only my fog lights if it's raining and durring the day (did the mod) and at night I always run both the headlights & fogs.

i usually use my fogs when the weather is bad, or when i feel the need to make myself more visible....

as for that ticket, i've never heard of that kind of law before. I know you can't drive with just parking lights on, and you can't drive with just fog lights. When used in conjunction with headlights i assumed it was purely legal.

I would fight the the ticket and ask the cop when he shows up what law you broke. I would also point out that these are driving lights and not fogs. I would also argue that since the manufacturer is puttind these on at the factory they have to be legal and you did nothing wrong by having them on as you do this for safety and visibility. In canada we are required to have daytime running lights ( high beams at 50%) on at all times. When i drive to california i got stopped by a cop who said it was illeagal to have my high beams on during the day. I pointed out to him that all vehicles in canada come this way from factory and the high beams come on as soon as you start your car. I showed him how it all worked. After seeing for himself he said to me " i guess you learn something new every day" and let me go.

I use mine most of the time until last nite. I just got a 50 bucks ticket for using it. That stupid cop said it was "illegal" to turn it on when the weather is not consider as hazard. I was like wtf.
Is it true? i saw people with their fog lights all the time. even when daylight. BTW i live in massachusetts. Damn it! this really pissed me off. Those dumbass have way too much time on their hands.
i'm calling bs on this one, ck ur manual does it say to only turn on ur foglights during hazardas congitions?no!

if u have to pay this ticket sue acura for putting something that is illegal on ur car!there cars are supposed to be 50 state legal

They're on almost all the time unless it's very bright and sunny. Sometimes with headlights and sometimes without...

To me it is as much (or more) a matter of being seen as it is to be able to see!!!

just read what it says earlier... they are driving lamps and not foglights. so if u get ticketed, go to court and show them ur owner's manual saying "DRIVING LAMPS" and the foglight law does not apply and tell them to cram the ticket up their rear ends

I know this has been covered, but how do you rewire the fogs to come on with the parking lights?
