how often do you put your pedal to the floor

I find myself doing it everyweekend, for no apparent reason, I think its an addiction, any1 have this problem? ALso - any1 ever have this habit and found the long-term effect of doing this. Im asking because I always read someones post saying "I don't like to push my car, but when its a full moon I will do it, but almost half the time of that"

so like it seems like some people truly baby their car, although alot of times I feel i do it too

An acura tech told me to redline the car at least once a day. I dont usually do that because gas is so expansive now. But yea, running your car at full potential once in a while is actually good for it.

I try to go easy on it most of the time, but usually at some point during the day I get pissed off at someone hogging the left lane and I gun it.

The only other time I really put it down is jetting from a toll booth.

10 times a day. Would more if I could, but 1 lane traffic both ways and both ways are busy makes it tough to do it more. I won't hurt your car actually if you baby it all the time you will see your gas mileage go down from the deposits building up in your intake manifold and cylinder heads also fuel injectors get cleaners from the pressure of full throttle accleration. Do it at least once every time you drive your car and you and your car will appreciate it more.

I use to do it often til I had to replace the motor mounts. The dealership told me it was because I was gunned it a lot. So i eased off a lil bit.

A couple of times a day I will do it. I try not to drive too hard because I am in a lot of stop and go traffic in NY. I only put it to the floor when I'm on the highway, or after I wash the car (don't ask why)

but serioiusly though, kris (since you basically knows the car inside out) is there really no harm to the car (other than wasting gas) to push the car hard often?

i was joking. i do it every time im in the car. having to fill up every day to every other day due to the amount of miles i put on i dont even really care about gas prices any more. ill never see gas prices under a dollar again like i used to pay and there isnt any thing we can do about the prices now.

Exactly. I don't know why people complain so much about gas prices. In inflation-adjusted real dollars, we're still paying less than we did in the past. It just went from great to good; it's still alright.

Not for us minimum wage guys. I have to bag a shift worth of groceries to afford a tank...
