how much should I pay?

I'm lookin to buy a blue 2002 tl tpye-s w/ nav with 62,000 mile on it. it is lowered and has the factory ground effects kit and trunk lid lip spoiler. also there is a custom sub enclosure with 2 12in jl w7's, 2 jl 500/1 amps, and one jl 300/4 amp. the speakers are focal components front and rear. there is an alpine cd/dvd/tv tuner below an alpine head unit. there are also two screens, one in each sun-visor. the car looks to be in excelent condition and has an extended 90,000 mile full warrenty. i drove it and it seems to drive just fine. the tranny has never been replaced, so that is the only thing i'm concerned about, but it's all still under warrenty. I just thought i should get your opinions since you guys know more about these cars than i do, and what you think i should be paying. thanks for your help.

joe

ps. i'm using a friend's acurazine acount

that right there is about $21k.... all those other stuff, brings the price way up. also depends who you are buying it from. Dealer or person? dealers are obviously more expensive.

tranny will go out some time, so don't worry about that! since its only 62000miles you'll be covered. if it was me, i would pay no more than 21-22k for it. the screens and stuff aren't worth that much to me. but ofcourse, they'll use that to sell the car for a higher price.

You need to ask yourself how long you are going to keep the car. The reality is that all the ground effects and lowering may be something you like but in the open market kill the value of the car. No dealer is ever going to want that car once it has been modified like that. So if you are going to keep it for a long time, great. If you are planning on selling it in a few years than stay away from the mods.

Also just paid $21,700 for an 03 Type-S with Navi and 37K miles from the dealer CPOed.

Mods like that bring the value of the car down to the general public so like Texas TL-s just said, ask how long you want the car for. If you were ever to trade it in, you would have to return it to stock and sell the parts to get your money back. But if you plan on keeping it for 4-5 years, that's another story.

Another thing to think about: In Virginia they just passed a law making screens anywhere within view of the driver or passenger illegal.....might happen in other states soon.

BTW I paid 18,500 for an 02-type-s with Navi 46000 miles on it, with a GE Extended Warranty 3 or 36000 miles (Cross my fingers on that one)
