How much is my '03 TL - S worth - I want to sell
Hey guys and gals -
I have an '03 TL Type S - Black w/ Tan interior and 3750 miles. rear wing and Eclipse 6 1/2 speakers FR/Back.
What do you think a fair price for me and the buyer is?
I hope this doesn't violate the board rules, I am not posting it for sale, just inquiring into your expert advice.
Thanks in advance.

quite honestly.. I am just not thrilled with the car. Car is perfect condition, no accidents, dings, dents or otherwise, just like when I drove it out.
Great car, just not for me, I guess.

I agree with Adam and SergeyM... realisticly you're probably looking around $26k - $28k.
Like WiLz said.. it's probably worth $28k to $30k... but only if you can find someone willing to pay that much when they can go to the dealer and get the exact same price for a brand new car. And if you trade it in... forget it.
My question to you is... didn't you test drive the car? How can you spend $30k+ on a car if you're not sure you'd like it? You should have taken it for a longer test drive if you weren't sure.

Of course I test drove it... it was nice that day.... I came from a 528I, sport/premium. Not knocking Acura (I owned more than 15 Honda's previously), but it is quite honestly difficult to get used to Japanese when you are used to German. There is THAT much of difference.
Dealer offered me $28000 on trade in against MDX (with a discount on the MDX), but payments still too high. that is why I got out of Beemer! business is tough now a days.
Well, if you know anyone interested - send 'em my way!
Thanks.

Was it peer pressure, I know that in Westport,CT BMW is king and driving an Acura of any type is a No-No

I'd say invoice less 10% would be doable but of course you would lose whatever dealer margin you paid as well as taxes.
Maybe next time you should drive a car a bit more b4 you buy. This will turn out to be one expensive rental!
On the other hand if you get Comptech springs and sways, you will put a stock 530 to shame since recent BMW's are very soft on suspension in the North American market.

I am thinking of keeping it, putting springs on.. but I don't think sways. I still want a nice ride, like the 530, but better control and handling. right now, the car is all over the road!
Are Comptech the best, H&R, Eibach? I don't really want to lower it too much.
Any recommendations?

I think $28K is a pretty fair offer from Acura for the trade in. Don't know what type of discount you are referring to on the MDX but I found MSRP everywhere I visited.
The problem with getting an MDX is that you may want to trade it in for an X5 three thousand miles into it because it is another Japanese vehicle. If are really that dissapointed in the 03 TL, take the loss and get as much as you can out of it know. Wait a couple of months and the 04 comes out and you will lose even more.

Buy the Tein SS Coil-over shock and spring assembly, they sell them on this site under "Suspension". I just had them installed and they are great. You can eliminate wheel-well gap and gives you the ability to adjust the height and the dampening to your desired ride. The adjsutments range from soft - OE Standard - firm and the dampening adjustment can be done in minutes.

Just curious, what kind of car do you want to get next after you sell the TL Type S?

So you're not enjoying the ride as much as you would like?

In stock form, the TLS does have a small boaty feel to it. Some like it, other want to imporve on it.
A 528 can out handle a STOCK TLS anyday.
Also wassy, if you want a decent ride but improve handling... then do the sways first. The springs will take away from the comfy ride you have, and the sways will get rid of most of the body roll. Then after sways... get springs.
Trust me.

I have to agree with the guy who wants to sell his car. Once your used to German everything else is crap. Heh that goes for the Women too!!!
I have a 97 540i 6 speed and the thing just kicks ass. The reason why my family got the TL S is becasue its a all around good car but if I had to buy again I would deffinitly go with a 330i stick in that sexy dark blue color. Heh I fell in love witht he service loaner BMW gave me.
