How much lower is the car with the OEM lips?

I'm contemplating buying OEM lips for my car but my car is lowered 1.75" in the front and 1.5" rear. I was wondering if I would have problems with scraping and bumping into parking curbs...Since I ocassionally park over the curbs with around 3-4" left clearance between the curb and the front bumper.

I dont want to buy them if they are too low since other people may drive the car and break the lip off while parking = waste of money.

I'm probably just gonna do it easy and buy them off Acura's site and have them install it.

LOL I have your pics saved on my computer
You ever hit stuff with the lips? How durable are they? Did you install yourself?

I'm also afraid of people easily ripping off the lip kits so maybe I'll have the dealer install it if they do it a certain way...I had my old civic with Mugen front and Type-R rear lips (I screwed them on myself) and someone jacked them by ripping them right off LOL

lol.. nice

i have. and so has my brother. lol

my first time was when i was parking up against a tall curb. and i hear. a little squeek. check damages. none..

i have the usual scrapes on the bottom from driveways and such but no biggy, nobody sees it.
they are really durable. i remember i hit a curb pretty hard... well, not SOOO HARD but good enough.

install was done by me. really easy. i took off the bumper since i needed to reach the inside. one screw going from lip to bumper and a nut to tighten. and then screws on the ends.

nobody will jack it. if they do.. dam... they effed up.

If your dropped on normal lowering springs, you shouldn't have any trouble with scrapping your front lip. If your slammed on coilovers, well then thats another story.. you will ALWAYS have to go @ a sharp, sharp angle in order to prevent scraping your front lip.

Mines all jacked up.. one of the downsides of being dumped.

I just ordered it from the Acura site......

Oh I don't care anymore...LOL...I just can't wait to get it put on!!!

I know nobody's gonna give a shit on the road, but it's gonna be awesome to be one of the few TL's around here with a lip kit LOL...the difference is like night and day. They always catch my eye when I see them but I rarely ever do see kitted TL's. I'll probably spot a few each year.

This should be my last mod ......unless I can get my hands on some black housing headlights.

sounds like common sense, but just be careful. that's all i have for you. you cannot pull up over the curb anymore and take driveways extra slow. i can't stand people with super low front ends that have a lip and still pull up over the curb. i just want to leave a note on their car that says, "learn how to park your car." LOL.

I just put my lip on, on monday. I noticed it sits somewhere between 1.5"-2.0" lower. I wish I was balling and can charge the whole kit. I have to do it one at a time, front, sides, then rear.

yeah man, thats what I'm doing. I'm piecing together my kit and afterward, I can use that to determine how low I want to go. I dont want it rubbing all over the place and driving slow over bumps. I'm too old for that stuff. So my advice is get the kit and see how long you can go before you slam it, but thats just how I operate.

Yah thats the stock height. So far with stock height, I just have enough room to clear the little parking blocks by half an inch but cant make it over a curb with out scraping the bottom. Speed bumps however are still clear with no troubles.

i'm a little less than 3" on the floor from the front, and i thought it was going to be pretty hard not to fuck shit up.. but you'll get used to it, and i drove almost all city with major potholes and roads that looked like a smushed carpet and i can get around. you're gonna love all the heads turning when you're dropped with a kit

I ordered it from White Bear Lake...actually right off the estore from myacura.com which shipped it there. Still waiting on the front lip to arrive on Monday.

.....That is probably not the way to go if you want to save some dough though lol ...I just chose the most straightforward way....paid full price....they'll take care of everything...I'm just too lazy to work on the car right now...

After this I just gotta paint that ugly gold grill to NPB and find some headlights. Then probably repaint the car and do some bodywork because of the previous owner did a horrible job of taking care of the car's exterior.

Lining up next to a 99-01 NPB TL with the lipkit on the other day just did it for me lol ...I had to get it after I saw that car.
