How much did you pay for TL-S?
My friend is looking to purchase a TL-S within 2 weeks. He lives in San Jose.
Poll....(anywhere in the country)
How much did you pay for your TL-S and is that with Navi or without? Thanks in advance. I appreciate this.

I just purchased a 2002 Acura TL Type S w/Navi for $31,993 last Sunday at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys. MSRP is $33,710. They were very willing to deal on the price. I love the new car. It's absolutely fantastic!!! I picked the Aegean Blue pearl w/Ebony interior. Just sold my 1997 BMW 540i. Glad to get rid of it!! Nothing beats Honda products for quality and performance. Great board. Will enjoy reading the posts.
Take care,

well..I got mine at MSRP from Stevens Creek Acura back in March.
and to my understanding...the current deal around here really depends on the color you're looking for. They won't take any off for the more popular colors such as SSM...
To be honest...I think the hospitality over at Stevens Creek ain't that great...but once you specify someone, that person will be really nice to you. Try David M. (I got my car from him)
or you could go to Michael over at Mike Harvey Acura (St. Mateo). He's quite nice too.
TundraMan - perhaps it's just a typo...but when I bought the car, the MSRP was $33.710... did it go up??

Got my NBP w/o navi 4 days ago for $30,270, incl. dest., w/ wheel locks, trunk tray, all season mats and a nice leather Acura ball cap.
Not the best deal I ever made, but so far, the best car.

Hopkins Acura
Dude,
I got my WDP TL-S with Nav from Hopkins Acura in Redwood City (a.k.a Deadwood ****ty). I paid, before tax and licensing, $32K and that included wheel locks, mud-guards, and cool trunk liner-tray.
I was pretty happy with the saleslady, Arlene Kennedy, and the overall service...so I can recommend them.

$30k with destination and wheel locks (no nav), bought in June, picked up late July. Prices are coming down, and the best deals seem to be in California anyway, so you should be able to find one for under $30k no nav. if you check a couple of dealers. It also helps if you're willing to get one off of the lot. Mine came from the factory, so I had to wait about 5 weeks, but my neighbor got one for almost the same price b/c he took his off the lot (this dealer wasn't letting them go for under $30,500).......

Albany, NY Prices.......
I got my 2002 TL-S Black w/ Black interior non-navi for $29,994.00 before taxes. Included in that price were the following options: rear spoiler with integrated brake light, mudguards F+R, all season mats, and protection package (wheel locks and trunk tray). I am very happy with my purchase. I had driven the new Lexus IS300 manual and liked the car alot, but the power and compact size are inadequate. The GS400 is too much money and rear wheel drive. Up here in the northeast rear wheel drive is not good in the winter! So, the Acura was the perfect choice. I just hope the 6speed is not that much faster. Good luck!

Just got my WDP TL Type S w/ Nav, wheel locks, mats, and mudflaps for $31,930 (not out the door).
I had a TERRIBLE time with Acura of Pleasanton, Acura of Concord, Sunnyvale Acura, and Los Gatos Acura. I went through an auto broker (Cartelligent in Sausalito). They were great and worth the money not to deal with the salesmen, sales manager, finance guy, warranty sell, and the approximately 4 hours you have to spend at the dealership. Talk to Randy or Mark.
My wife is going to buy her 325i through them in about 2 months.

I paid $31,000 for my silver TL-S with Navi in mid July. I'm a fifth time Acura purchaser, so that have gotten me a few hundred off, but you should be able to get ANY COLOR YOU WANT for $31,500 with Navi. I suggest you agree to put down a deposit on one that hasn't even arrived yet. The dealer will get every penny of their 2% holdback, and the salesman will still make a little extra.
Good Luck!

How much faster IS the 6 speed?
It may feel faster but I really wonder how much faster will the car be in general. I doubt it will be much faster than maybe .2, 0-60 and maybe do the quarter in 14.6 as compared to the 14.8 posted for the automatic. AND that is with a professional driver at the helm. I have driven manuals since I first learned how to drive. I must say that this is the best automatic and most responsive I have ever driven. Plus, off the line it is very punchy. The manual Could be faster off the line with the right clutch slip, etc. but if you screw up the launch,,,say goodbye,,because the automatic will be so much more consistent. Especially at the quarter mile track or something. I may be a little envious. But, the 5 speed automatic is great. Plus, if I really wanted to keep things level i would simply contact Level 10 down in Jersey I think and get them to modify my torque converter. And then things would get really interesting! Personally, when my car gets older I am going to get my torque converter modified, and eventually the MOD cam gears after the warranty is up and you never know by then the Compton or Jackson Supercharger kit could be ready and then watch the BMW's eat my dust. Whoops, I went off track,,heheeh. Anyway, a more aggressive torque converter and some gummy tires and things would be about even between a 6speed manual and a auto in SS mode. Watch the responses to this one.

32,498 out the door 2 weeks after they hit the showroom. made the deal over the phone on a ssm w/o navi, w/locks n mudgards with Jesus at neillo in sacramento. not one damn bit of haggling. i called, said what i wanted to pay, he said he'd call me back if he could swing it, he did, i love this car ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i even snatched a white one still wrapped with no miles instead of the ssm one when i got there with no bs about "a deals a deal". he had all the paperwork ready when i got there, gave me the first oil change free + my choice of keychains. its the little things that count...
dude was cooooooool. went over every friggin thing about the car with me, not that i wanted to listen but he really wanted too.
sh*t if you go, tell him leonard sent you. score me some points on my next vehicle.

almost forgot:
got the tiniest of chips in between the hood and fender (i mean anal small :-) 3 weeks later. dude hooks me up with a free bottle of touch up paint. thats oilchange ($30), keychain ($15) and paint ($40) just because. granted i spent 32.5K but im sure you see my point.

Thanks people!
You're replies are well appreciated.
TYPE SSSS, I emailed my friend to give a call to the salesman in Sacramento. We will definitely mention your name if my friend calls him up.
Once again THANKS!

Go to www.costco.com
Click "services."
Fill out the questionaire.
Fleet manager will contact you (in my case within 10 mins) to set up an appointment.
Fleet manager will show you his factory invoice, and the price he will sell it for (in my case $800 over invoice). I could have had nav for an additional $1800.
As far as I'm concerned, it's the only way I'll buy another new car.

Well, to make everyone in Cali feel a bit better... things in the DC metro area are terrible. All three Acura dealerships in the area are taking order on TL-S w/ navi. They say orders can't be filled until the end of October. That's means it's a sellers market over here. Here's the scoop....
2002 TL-S w/ navi............35,600 (tax, tag, title)...
And that's the bottom line![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Guess I have to venture to other markets to get a better deal....

Bought mine is April and I paid $31,200 W/ NAV, all season floor mats. moonroof visor, and wheel locks. Then I traded in my 93 Integra and got a few more bucks knocked off. But, I had to add on 5% tax, reg, title, doc....

I paid $30,222 in early May w/ out Nav. This price was reached after only 5 minutes on the phone with the sales manager, so I can't complain. This was for car no extras expect for the truck mat, cargo net, and wheel locks (those where included at this price).

Price Paid in DC/MD/VA
What dealerships are you talking to? I went to Tischer Acura on 8/11 to buy a Dark Emerald TL-S Navi. I entered at 5:15 pm, I left at 5:45 with an offer to buy at $32,100 inc. wheel locks, and two free oil changes. I did not sign anything and I left because I thought that I could do a little better through a service called Car Bargains. After waiting a week for the CarBargains report, their best price was $200 more than my bestprice. I went back to Tischer on 8/20 to close the original deal(I walked in at 7:30 pm, and was finished by 8:00pm.). Tischer did not have that color in stock. My salesman asked me: "How soon do you want it?" I replied: "How soon can you get it?" He replied; "How about tomorrow?" I said "OK!" He found the car at Frankel Acura which is outside of Baltimore(I live in DC by the way). It was at his dealership the next day, and I picked it up on 8/23.
There is a free service in the DC/MD/VA called UBS(United Buyers Service) which gets dealers to sell cars at pre-negotiated prices. The prices include freight, processing and doc fees. The only price to add is whatever options you choose. TL prices are as follows:
TL non Nav: $27,963
TL w/Nav: $29,783
TL-S non Nav: $30,302
TL-S w/nav $ 32,122

Price Paid in DC/MD/VA (CONT)
One last suggestion. The only options I wanted were mud guards and fenderwell trim. I printed the prices from the hondacuraworld website and took them to Tischer, who matched them. I saved labor charges by installing them myself, and the website provides you with printable installation instructions.

front lower lip..side skirts... rear lower skirt... and rear spoiler...
So what you got it for... $32,100.. is about right... not the best deal but about right for the area...
So if I took the price you got it for:
$32,100.00 TL-S w/Navi
$ 830.00 Painted Body Kit
$ 490.00 Rear Spoiler
_________
$33,420.00
Now I got it for 33700... and the price above doesn't include labor or shipping of body kit & spoiler if purchased on TL site.
So the price I got if for was OK for the area... I'm sure I could of gotten another 500.00 off if i dealt harder... but sometimes you get to a point where you just don't wanta be there any longer...

The people over at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly tried to give me the raw deal.
Yesterday I went over to Radley Acura on Columbia Pike and was able to get a great deal from them. They had the car on the lot so the deal was closed yesterday.
I have to say a few negative things about Pohanka. They claim to be the #2 Acura dealership and #1 TL dealership in the country. If that is true... they certainly act like. Anybody in the No. VA area would be wise to avoid Pohanka. I had a terrible time with their sales team when my girlfriend bought her 2001 Intergra from there. The GM called it a "comedy of errors"... whatever![Confused](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Unfortately, many affluent people in that area don't have any reservations about putting down a deposit on a car they won't get until Nov and they pay sticker price for it. People like that make it hard to everyone else to get a better deal![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Anyway.... I finally got the car I wanted at the price I wanted. Personally, I think I was a bit lucky to catch the right guy at the right time..... but hey, timing is everything, isn't it?

DC/MD/VA Prices
Eazy- My apologies. i misread it the first time, late night, mind playing tricks, etc. I was mainly focusing on what UFCEN had posted about placing orders and having to wait until October. I agree, I probably could have spent a little more time negotiating a few more dollars, but I did not want to spend a few more hours to save $5-7 dollars a month.
UFCEN- Congrats on your purchase! I agree with you about Pohanka's policies in an affluent area. I purchased my Integra from them in 1990(I still have it and it runs good, by the way). I received a good deal because it was a credit union sale. In 11 years of ownership, however, I never went there for service. The reason why was that Pohanka had the highest prices for service(15k, 30k, 45k etc.) among the area Acura dealers and I always believed that it was because of where they are located. One good thing about Radley- Their service dept. is open until 2am Monday thru Friday!
