Since most dealers are trying to unload their 2002's, $300-$500 above invoice shoud be the norm nowadays.

I just picked up a silver 2000 TL for $25,000 CDN + 15% taxes = $28,750.
It only had 35K Kms. I'm lovin' it!

There is a 2002 TL Type S on ebay for 24,900 buy it now and I saw another for 23,900. It sure is depresssing to see those prices considering I just paid over $32,000 OTD for my 2003 TLS about 2 months ago. I thoiught the resale value was good on these cars, but it s_cks!!

I listed my 02 TL-S w/30k miles for $24, 500 2 months ago and the best offer i received was $22,000. Needless to say i kept it. I can not believe how much the TL-S has depreciated in a year. I can only think it is because the market is saturated with them. I have always thought Honda/Acura autos maintained their value quite well. Not on this one.

$22,000 is about right. Depreciation for the first year is about 20% That already equates to $5800.

In addition, you have 30k miles.
That is about 16K too many miles on it. At 10 cents a mile, you are looking at a reduction of about another $1600.

Years 2-5, project your car to lose about $1700 a year (that is if you drive no more than 12-14k miles a year)

Overall, ACURA does hold it's value. Look at what at 2002 BMW 330, or an IS 300 is going for today.

i was thinking the same thing. kinda thought it was amazing some people got one off the lot and out the door with a navi for like 29,100, or 30,100.

OTD price is NOT accurate.
Some states have 6% sales tax. Some 8.5%.
License and transfer fee is different also.
Mine was only $37.50. I think in CA, it is about $200+.
Price of CAR ONLY (+ options) would be the best gauge.

Agreed, For example, OTD for someone in DE will be much different than that of someone in GA even if they both got the car for 30,000

What each person paid for the car less all of the other BS is the best guage.

Congrats Laurelcrest!

I picked mine up from a guy coming off lease. All he asked for was $500 in cash for compensation for his time and effort. Buyback was around $24,800 and Acura had to take their $250 take for admin charges.

I put down $5000 and the interest rate is 7.9% so in the end, I pay about $480/mnth for 5 years.

My Mistake. Looking at the invoice again, it was 30550, plus tax and all that good stuff. Out the door was exactly 33650 at 8% tax, etc.

WDP TL-S Navi, and they threw in a trunk tray for free, as well as the wheel locks and the mud guards.

How much did that cheapass keyboard with the busted caps lock cost you?

I paid 34,000 for an Anthracite Metallic 2003 TL-S with navi, OEM wing, mudguards, blackwood wheel and vent trim. Today it has 250 miles on it.

Pricing

I got my 2002 TL-S for $28,500 plus tax and title in November 2001. Picked it up the day before Thanksgiving last year, so it's just over a year old. Still loving it.
