Post How much did everyone pay for their TL?

Im just curious if i got a good deal or not. I got my TL w/ Navigation only for 32,000 drive out... And that's with a 5 year exterior/interior warrenty, 2 years oil change/ service, and a 40 dollar chrome license plate thingy. I wanted to add the factory kit but 1800 was too much for a add on....

That's probably about right.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but really, what difference does a $1,000 dollars one way or the other make on a $32,000 car?

Paid 29,500 before taxes for NAV, add 7% for walk out price. Taxes are steep in my county. $1000 doesn't seem like much if you finance because it's only a few bucks more on your payments, but if you pay cash...it's $1000 you could spend on something else.

I got "almost" every avail upgrades on the car when I first saw it at the dealership(including 4 new wheels), and they did not want to take out anything.

It's VERY hot to find one in bay area (every dealer had 250+ people on waiting list). If I arrived 30 seconds late on that day, another person would bought my car.

Don't ask me how much I pay for it because it can buy a 328i(no upgrade).

US $27800 with wheel locks and mats. Also got a trade on my 92 Civic with over 100,000 miles for $4300.

After writing the sale, someone was willing to pay more than MSRP for my car. I think I made out pretty well considering I waited over a year to do better than MSRP.

BTW, I worked directly with the sales manager

I feel lucky i only paid $28,100, w/out navi. And that's with the 7 year 100,00 mile warranty, wheel locks, mud flaps, and floor mats! I got $16,000 for my 98 accord ex w/37,000 miles on it. (which they sold the next day for $17,900)

The same price was found at two other dealers
in CT. Nobody was moving from hear, they wanted $750 for the rear spoiler! needless to say there are a number of after market options...

Damn! I feel I got ripped! I live in the Washington DC area and none of the dealers around here (5) would budge off sticker. Needless to say I paid $30,200 for my 2000 TL without Navi, but with spoiler, factory kit, and CD changer. Should have shopped in other states. BTW, I was at my dealer the other day and they still don't have any TL's on the lot, but had about 20 or so CL Type S and regular.

I did allot of calling today to dealers, because my TL with NAV had not come in yet and my deposit is refundable. It seems like Florida is the cheapest place to buy a TL these days. I spoke with a big dealership in JAX and they offered under 28,900 for a NAV with floor mats. The guy seemed pretty honest and even told me what kind of profit they would get with the holdback, which matched my numbers. Seems they do a ton of volume.

However, I decided to wait it out with my dealer here in town for $500 more. I think he wanted to match the price but they just wouldn't let him and I felt a little guilty for shopping around after I had ordered the car(although he understood if I went with the other dealership).

Anyway, I thought this information might be helpful for those still looking for a TL. It seems JAX offers some pretty competitive prices and they had allot to choose from. The dealership in Ocala was also pretty good and offered 29.2 for a NAV.

All prices mentioned include everything but tax.

$29,650 + tax and title for a 2000 TL/Nav with burlwood shift knob, 6-CD changer and floor mats. Not an easy deal, and I had to do some work to get it. The dealer listed the price with the above options at $32,028 and yes, I would rather have the $2,378 diference in my pocket than the dealer's.

Just picked up my new TL on Wednesday. Got it for $27,800, a no-NAV silver/black car with a couple of dealer options: wood shift knob, wheel locks, floor mats, moonroof visor, black chrome emblems (which I think look GREAT on the silver body).

It would have been $27,500 without the options.

This was from Acura of Valley Stream in New York (Long Island).

I just purchased a 2000 TL w/o Nav (white pearl). Exact sale price (including all fees) $27,907.50 + 3% tax. That price includes dest charge, floor mats, splash guards, wheel locks, black chrome emblem kit, trunk tray, all fees and delivery from a neighboring state (Arizona) to my door.

Local dealer (NM) wasn't willing to make me a good offer right off the bat. CO (Denver and Co. Springs) were selling at MSRP. Checked with a dealer in TX and they couldn't beat the price. Bell Acura in Phoenix made me a great offer right off the bat ($300 above my final purchase price.) Since I knew I was getting a good deal, I just added the options I wanted and basically named my price for them (fair market value, i.e. what I could get if I ordered them online). Car will be delivered on Tuesday ))))

Question

Curious if anyone has tried buying their car through Costco's new car purchase program and what kind of deal they got.

I just got my 2001 Silver TL last Saturday. $29,030 + tax + 7 year warranty so it came out to 32-33 (exact price is at home). Made them throw in a wood shift knob... though after I bought it I realized it was mohagany! I'll make 'em change it.

Vilnius,

Why'd you pay $1100 more for a 2001 TL, considering there's nothing new for 2001? Was there a new color you really wanted or something?

Paid $30,000 w/Nav, included mats and spoiler. Got $1600 for an old 1990 Chrysler Lebaron that was sitting garaged and not running for 2 yrs. Tax of 7% on $28,400 plus $105 for registration,Title & Prep. Out the door for a total of $30,493. Picked it Up 0n 9/15/00. At the time they had 11 other TL's on their lot.

2000 Black on Parchment for 31,900 w/ Nav, OTD.
Had to buy the car in So. Cal. because none of the dealers in the bay would go under 33K. I even had one dealership hang up the phone on me.

When I was working on 32,000 out the door, I had a sales person in Pleasanton tell me, "Maybe this car isn't for you". I haven't finished the complaining letter to the manager yet. I'm thinking about driving up to the Pleasanton dealership because I still have the So. Cal dealership tags on the car.
Just wanna show how much the salesperson missed out on their commission.

For any future buyers I'll let you know who the sales person was if I can remember the name. I'm not sure how the regulators feel about defaming rude and unprofessional dealers.

btw, I can also attest to the lack of inventory here in the Bay Area. Those waiting list's are rediculous!

Some people got really good deals.

I paid $29,000 + TTL
-underbody kit
-burlwood shiftknob
-mats
-wheel locks
-tint
-car cover

I had to fight for the price for two weeks. No dealership in Dallas was really willing to give it to me at that price except Vandergriff Acura in Arlington. I felt I got a good deal, because the car was never driven by anyone else. It had 8 miles and I picked it up the day after the car was delivered.

What do you guys think?
appreciate your opinions....

I paid $23,500 (w/floormats) including the trade-in. Book value on the trade was about $5,000, but since it needed about $2,000 in work, I think I did OK.

Popularity definitely makes it hard to over-negotiate; I got to choose from 3 unsold cars arriving within 2 weeks. I'm sure that nearly every TL arriving in Boston is sold by the time it's unloaded.

The residual value in 3 or 4 years (I plan to sell then) will be of $1700 difference between 2001 and 2000. So, I hope put into my pocket $600 extra.
