how much better is the H&R OE springs in terms of performance?

all over the board the response i read is "the ride is much better"
not many people talk about its performance gains

but i'm wondering if the handling gets better or roughly the same

h&r oe sports

The ride is as good or better than stock, while most of the brake dive and squat is gone. Body roll is significantly reduced and the drop is much larger than the advertised specs. About 1' gap in back and 2.5" in front.with my 235/45 17's.

Highly recommended, the sports were too much of a drop for my taste.

No Sway...

If you're using the springs in combination with sway bars, you'll get an excellent handling car. The springs are nice, but still needs improvement IMOHO.

I agree with the last post, get the OE H&R Springs, my sports springs sit about 1" above the wheel, which is bit much for my taste too, I say about 80% of TL'ers like the sports or race springs dip, with only 20% or so going with the OE springs.

I like my sports, but now that I'm thinking of getting a body kit, I might wish I got the OE's. I'm not sure how bad it will be if I have the sports and body kit.

Ok...I have had 4 different setups on my TL and here is what I think, but this is, what I think....

1) Stock - Great Ride, lots of body roll, VERY smooth

2) H&R Sports - Good Ride, about 30% stiffer, reduction of body roll is there, but not significant

3) Stock Springs with Comptech Sways and Neuspeed strut - This is the BEST combo if my opinion, if you just want added performance on turns. It is amazing what the sways will do and you still keep the stock ride. My 1st choice, if i didnt mind the gap.

4) H&R OE w/ Sways and Strut - Funny, I lowered the car after I put the sways and noticed the car leaned more than before. The mechanic said it is because the shock is now somewhat pre-compressed from what it was designed to do.

It all depends on what you want to do, if you want to get rid of the SUV look, H&R OE or Sports all the way. If you just want added performance, Comptech Sways. If you want the best overall combo, shell out some $$$, get the Tein SS in conjunction with the Sways and strut. This is the ultimate combo in my mind, and if I didn't buy the S2000, my TL would have definately have that setup on it!

Wow, my longest post ever...boring day at work!

Oh yea, remember, the H&R specs are more geared towards the lighter Accord. Here is what happened with the drops that I experienced:

H&R Sport - listed: 1.75"
my car: ~2.25"

H&R OE Sport - listed: .75" front .5" back
my car: 1.25" front 1" back

for reference.

My car has the Sport Springs on it, pictures where in the Gallery Forud as of last week, but gone now. Try doing a search (although someone posted the pictures for me... Dmeeri I think)

It's a 2003 Antracite with Type-S rims.

Thanks! I have made up my mind now....OES on my 2000 with stock wheels b/c I can not take the 2.25 drop...do you think the drop will be noticeable and more importantly do you think the body roll will be greatly reduced?
