How many miles you got post tranny revision?
Just as the title stated anyone who has the post revision tranny how many miles have you put on since then and has everything been going ok with the tranny so far? I just want to get an idea since I have an 02 TL-S and pushing 92k my warranty will be up soon. Thanks.

By the tranny revision, are you referring to the changes Acura made in February of 2005?
And do you realize that the extended warranty on the transmission has been increased from 100,000 to 109,000 miles as a result of a class action lawsuit settlement?

Yeah I could not remember the date but yes exactly that revision. And yeah i know about the extension but the rate I am driving at that will probably only be like another year or so. I just want to know if anyone has gone past that 109,000 mark and by how far just to get an idea. I would love to keep the car but I can't really afford to pay for a new tranny out of pocket.

Sounds like another round of assembly with a faulty part tranmissions- to bad there is no real way to test them before shpment- and they have to get miles on them to develope a prob- then it can be relayed back to the assembly place
They may be making small changes we are not privvy to- and not all of them work
for example - a big name Scar race team ~e~ someone installed the rubber seal inside the clutch master cylinder backwards- and did the same for all the team cars and the spares- just to make it interesting!
This eventually resulted in failure of the system in the extended position- overheating the clutch-overrev a $50,000 engine, damage a trans of equal value
Moral of the story-
things happen to everyone- it is interesting that some people have so many falures
Hopefully whatever prob your last ones had- has been resolved
Speak with the Service Manager- see if they have insight to recent changes
And its Monday morning- service dept meeting- nothing happens in the shop until 10
so if you can drop in early with a box of donuts- you car will be looked after carefully and repaired asap
