how long does it take

How long does it take for the on board comptuer to fully reset ? I just reset it today so that I can take it to for the emissions test. It has a check engine light P1457 and cant figure out how to get rid of this. Car runs fine for the past 1 year

how do i know that the computer is fully reset. ?

Taking it tothe dealer to fix the problem would get rid of P1457, Leak Detected In EVAP Control System. Just because it runs fine doesnt mean that there isnt something wrong. The CEL isnt a dummy light and should always be looked at when it comes on.
After being reset it takes something like 60 miles worth of driving (from what others have said)

You will not pass any emissions test until you fix the problem. The equipment they use will be able to tell that you reset the check engine light.

Why not have a mechanic figure out what's wrong with the evap control system?
