How long btw 1st tranny incident and total failure?
For those of you who have had the tranny completely die, how long was it from the 1st few tranny slips to the total failure?

I asking from the 1st time you noticed something was wrong with your car, to the time it took for the tranny to fall apart for EACH TIME (in the case of those people who have trannies that have fallen apart multiple time)
See I just had my tranny slip on me a little last night, from a 2-1 downshift. I want to know how long my car has before the tranny will give way completely. I drove about 120 miles since then, no other indications from the tranny. I just wanted to get an idea of whether I have 1 day before the tranny goes, or 1 month.

1st one went at about 27,000 miles. The car refused to go into drive and reverse from neutral or park.
2nd was miss shifting and slipping from second to third. 35,000
3rd was hesitating going into drive and kept getting stuck in nuetral when going to reverse or park. Then it downshifted on the highway and wouldnt upshift, started slipping to second from the 4-3-2 or 4-2 downshifts. 44,000

I noticed slipping, but it was so intermittent, I thought I was imagining it. A week went by, then it happened again.
It was less than a week after the SECOND slipping incident that the thing died.
Mine did not kill the car, as I was able to limp it into the dealer, about 20 miles away from the place where the Christmas Tree Light display came on.

Mine slipped once about a month ago. Then nothing for a few weeks. Then last week I noticed big slipping in 3rd when using SS. Car went into the dealer Friday, and a new tranny is on order. So about a month for me....
