How to install Sides Skirt w/o brackets?

Okay here's my dilemma, finally going to install my lip kit which I have been piecing together for a year now. But since the side skirts are duplicate oems, they werent made with the inside bracket that would hook onto the clips on the body. So not sure how to install it? Any ideas?...I prefer not to use double sided tape to hold it....

If you don't have the brackets, I don't see how you're going to mount it other than with doublesided tape. If you go with double sided tape, make sure you use the 3M Scotch Mount molding tape. That stuff is very strong.

They make it in bigger rolls too.

youre gonna have to get crafty and go to home depot. i will assure you that tape will not hold it on considering how much vibration these side skirts will have to endure.

maybe you should consider getting an OEM one so itll be easier and cheaper in the long run.

its actually not hard at all. I went to my local dealership for a part and asked them if they had any in stock. He said they do but not in SSM. They go for $350 for both sides. I also emailed the acura sponsor guy from the forums and he can order them for $288 shipped. So you can get it, just may not be the color you need.

I don't think his problem is that he doesn't have the clips, I think his problem is that the actual side skirts don't have a place to hold the clips.

thats kind of hard, cause those brackets has to be in that certain position for it to slide in correctly. Not saying its impossible, just saying you have to be perfect.

Double-side tape may not work very well. The sideskirt itself is hollow, and the only place that can be tape to the car body is the long, thin edge of the piece. You'll need a much bigger contact patch on the sideskirt to tape onto.

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully SSTL will post a pic so we can see what his side skirt looks like.

As requested pics. I really dont want to mold the sides, since I live in Toronto...horrible roads during winter. So most likely would want to have them off during winter and put back on for summer. If I do keep them on during winter and they get cracked, it would be harder to fix if molded?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Damn. For that amount of work, I would have ordered them from Acura in the wrong color and had them painted. You have to paint those anyway.

You need brackets, just attaching them at the tops wont be enough. Thats a lot of work man.
