ya you really need some quality air tools/compressor and a lift would really make the job easy, but not necessary.

get a mechanic to loosen the bolts attached to the cat...(typically rusted bolts, and they have to be cut out) and get the mechanic to loosen the O2 sensor... my mechanic had to heat up the pipe with a torch to loosen the O2 sensor.

other than those two things you could do this entire intstall with a good rachet set, a couple of jack stands and a jack.. That's it!!

when i installed my headers i had no frozen bolts. the cat bolts where tighter than hell though. for the install i went to shucks & bought 2 plastic ramps for under 20 bucks. they worked great. On the bolts that might not come loose buy or borrow a mapps torch. heat the troubled nut & its surrounding area, will then come off like a dream. I don't think you'll have any problem with the exhaust manifold bolts but you might on the cat bolts & the o2 sensor. try to avoid heating the o2 sensor if @ all possible. On the header nearest the fire wall i did most of work from underneath. Go for it you won't be disappointed.

You'll end up cutting your hands a little but you can get in there.. it took me a little bit to get the rear header off but it came eventually..
