To take off the emblems:

1) Wait for a warm, hot, sunny day and park your car there for one hour.

2) Use a blowdryer and hold it over each letter for 5 minutes until nice, soft, and chewy. Do not overcook.

3) Using dental floss, gently loop the floss under a strong corner of the letter you want to remove (the top of the "A" as opposed to one of the legs) and shimmy the floss underneath the whole letter until it comes off.

4) Avoid the temptation to pull the letters off with your bare hands - they may break, or (if you don't care about keeping them) you may dent the car metal.

5) GENTLY remove the excess glue with an inert solvent. Believe it or not, Lighter fluid (such as those for zippo lighters) does this every well and does not damage the finish.

6) Wash, Wax, and Polish the area from which the letters were removed and - oh darn, just wash the whole freakin' car.

7) Pimp.

don't know if you guys have tried this or not. but .. a nice fat strip of cellophane tape .. read "clear box tape" can stick on and "stick the glue off" quite easily. I've done it and it feels 'less harmful' than putting 'any solvent' of any kind on your paint of course after u stick 'most' of it off, theres usually just a little bit left that even water can take care of.

this usually works for any black 'gunky gluey' stuff stuck on whatever smooth surface you have.

Wink

oh .. BTW .. do NOT get cheap on me and use that old melting roll of tape that has been sitting in the sun or next to the heater for years, you'll end up getting MORE glue onto whatever you're getting rid of .. common sense.. but sometimes they say common sense isn't common

so there...disclaimer.. ppl best not start msg'ing me about killin me cuz they did that and got more crap on their cars

Use this it works nicely. It's all natural and won't hurt your finish.

think I've seen some at the local home depot.
otherwise, I think any hardware store worth its salt should carry it.

I popped off the letters with a knife (carefully) and rubbed the sticky tape off with my finger. That was it... no tools or anything special.

I then used Mother's scratch remover and waxed over it a few times. Came out perfect.

And use mint flavored floss. It works better than regular.

Lick it.

Use fishing line, floss is too flimsy.

Cool

WD 40 removes the sticky better than anything. Rubbing the cement off with your finger can really scratch the finish. I know, first hand.

That sucks... I was really careful when I did it and had no problems. My friend debadged his TL using the same method and also had perfect results.
