How do you change a stock deck to a aftermarket deck
#2
What's up Thornton? I live in Highlands Ranch. I know they have talked about this alot. Do a search on woofer, bose, or stock radio and you should find a ton of info. Car Toys may also be able to provide some input. The main issue is the stock radio's bose amp which controls everything. It's tricky to get around, but from what I have seen, it can be done.

the reason you dont have use of the stock sub is because no one makes a wireing harness to connect to the sub from a aftermarket headunit. the only way would be to do some custom wiring or to add a seperate amp to the stock sub (which i did) or to get a sub box and amp.

the only thing i can think of would be to tap into the rear out's from the headunit and patch them into the inputs to the factory sub amp (behind rear seat) . i didnt do it but i know it would be possible. i found it easier to run a power wire and rca's to the trunk and install a small amp i already had to the sub.
as soon as i get my car back (if i do) im going to be checking into the CTS sub and getting it to fit into our location. its a low profile freeair sub that wails (i had a CTS loaner last weekend)
