How do I install an aftermarket OilGauge
Hey guys,
I have purchased an Aftermarket Oil Pressure gauge. It comes with a seperate Oil Sender Unit. I'm pretty sure I can install on my own I just need some guidance here. Has anyone done this or know the steps to doing this?

Thanks man. I figure I would have to add the supplied Oil Sender to the car. My only problem is where do I find the Original ( Stock ) Oil sending unit. I have tried looking around the dipstick area ( cannot see much there ). Any Ideas???

I would look near the oil filter and on the back (firewall side) of the engine block.

If you could look it up that would be great. I have looked near the oil filter and under the engine. I can find the VTEC Solenoids ( They are mounted to the oil filter housing ). Just cannot find the Oil sender. Man, I though this would have been easy.

The oil pressure switch is located on the left side of the oil pump (facing the timing belt end of the engine). It is just to the left of the VTEC solenoid assembly and above the oil filter. It says there is a single yellow/red wire connected to it.

I have dead hookers in
Yes they are different. They have different wheels, 2 tone leather interior, only come in NBP or ABP, im pretty sure they were only avaliable in Canada and you dont see them that often. there are a few on the boards and they are oh so sexy. I think they have a different spoiler also. Id give up my WDP TL-S for an ABP A SPEC any day of the week and twice on sunday

I'll be honest, I love my A-Spec. The Differences inside are Black on Blue Leather, Blue trimmed Steering wheel, Blue Tinted Headlights, A unique Rear Wing with Red LEDs mounted on the top of the wing (Like a fighter Jet...LOL), 7 spoke rims, and the Type-S Skirt PKG.

I'll be sure to put up some pics for you guys to see...I have ordered the 2 Gauge Pod from Lotek and have purchased The Air/Fuel and Oil Pressure gauges from Glow Shift. I'm just waiting for my Pod to come in as it's been at Canada Customs for a few days now.

the TL uses a tiny bit of oil- if you put 5 usa quarts in a usa car- its supposed to hold 4.7 with a new filter, so that puts you a tick or 2 over the full dot.
There is no problem with this, plenty of room in the pan for it
By 7500 miles it will probably be down to the full mark and time for a change.
All engines, as a part of the process and internal pressures, force some oil thru the rings.
That crankcase vapor gets picked up and recycled right into the rubber snout for the TB - Intake manifold, and its moveable plate inside,,,, which gets soaked with partially burnt oil and fuel remnants.
Its important to clean the TB plate when you change the air filter or have it open for any reason- its simple to do- and when you seafoam the intake- clean that plate for sure!
Anything more than miniscule oil burn on a TL is probably a rear main seal on the engine leaking. In that case remove the access panel under the car and look-

on a side note, be careful that you dont lose the pressure signal to the vtec solenoids. had a friend put in an aftermarket kit on his civic when he boosted it, and spent a lot of time trying to figure out why he lost vtec.

Thank you for the DIY, I will see if I can use any of your steps fo my own Install. The Fitting sizes were very helpful! I am still waiting for my Gauge Pod to clear Canada Customs so have not yet attempted the install.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a wiring schematic for the ECU? I think for my Air/Fuel Guage I can tap the signal from the ECU instead of Having to run a wire to the O/2 Sensor.

K, So I've installed the gauges...I'll post some pics soon. I have the Air/fuel connected and working. The Oil Gauge is in and powered but, I have not been able to get a pressure signal as yet. I may have to buy a Sandwich adapter.
