How to determine the "pack seal" side of a wheel bearing?
I am replacing the front wheel bearings on my 2001 TL and the bearings I purchased () don't have a "black" ring on one side of the bearing to determine the pack seal side. Both the front and are metallic. Is there another way to determine which side is the pack seal side or which direction to press in the bearing?

As you are aware, the Helms states to: 'Place the wheel bearing on the knuckle with the pack seal side facing (metal color) toward the inside. Be careful not to damage the sleeve of the pack seal.'
If those particular Drivestar 510050 Front Wheel Hub bearings you purchased above are manufactured with 'metal' on either side and look visually the same, then they may very well be universal as to placement?
