How to clear out headlights... HELP
yo, im pretty sure i know how to clear out headlights, but cud u guys just help me out here... lemme get this right, u need to take out the headlight, in order to do so do u need to take off the front bumper? and when u take out the headlight, u melt the seal with a hairdryer and just pull out the orange oval on the side? then seal it back up with silicon and put the casing back on. how long do i need to hold it togetehr while the sealant dries? will there be condesation on the inside?
if ne of u guys did this urself cud u tell me how hard it is, or how long it takes, or if there is condesation, and its a bad idea to do it urself....
thank

I did this myself. It's actually pretty damn hard to do RIGHT. It's very easy to do wrong.
You have the instructions right but don't try to simplify it when you do it. The BEST way to do it so it doesn't leak is to remove as much of the OLD silicone seal as possible and then re-silicone the light together. Then you need to clamp the light together to let it seal. You should let the light sit for at least 4 hours before removing the clamps.
I let my lights sit over night. It took 2 days because I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need my car. I have no leaking, no fogging and the silicone looks stock (like it did before I cleared my lights). A lot of people on this board have silicone hanging all over the top of the light. That will work, but looks crappy. It's up to you how much time you want to spend on it which will end up in how good a job you do.

If it doesn't work you could always buy a new headlight case for about $180.
Try to used a heat gun < $25 instead of a hair dryer. If you do it carefully, you could used the stock silicone again, without adding any more silicone. You are going to need clamps, about $10 -$15 each to hold it tight after you close them.
