how to clean vinyl and steering wheel

hey guys,

my tl-s is like 2 months old and that part on the drivers side door is filthy. i guess its vinyl or something. what do you guys use to clean it. i heard just use water and soap but if u use the wrong substance it could change color. its the same material as the steering wheel, which is also getting dirty. leather cleaner is no good for these areas, do u guys know what is good?

I think Lexol makes a cleaner for vinyl etc. You can find it at most autoomotive stores.

I use 303. This stuff is awesome... really cleans and protects. If NSXNEXT sees this topic I'm sure he'll comment on it since he's the one of the original users on here. He's actually the one that convinced me to get it!!

Go with the 303 - its great stuff, good SPF, low sheen, and doesn't attract dust like others do

Yeah I use 303 for everything in the interior. Vinyl, leather, wood trimming, plastic. Its the best stuff I have ever used. Apply it and let it sit then wipe it off.

I got mine at REI. It's like a sporting good store, but they carry 303 for the canoe's and stuff. I'm sure any boating place would have the stuff.

I was under the impression that our steering wheels were leather wrapped?

Oh ok good. I just got done with cleaning my car with a leather cleaner, and cleaned the steering wheel! There was A LOT of dirt on the steering wheel that came off.

I got mine off of eBay. But you can find it at any Marine store. They use it for the leather and vinyl on boats. So I figure if it withstands the salt water and sun that a boat gets it will withstand anything that comes in contact with the interior of our cars.

No problem. I saw it on some other post. Gotta spread the word

I'm looking for the link that tells you what proportions to mix it with. From what I recall, this stuff is used for oil tankers to fresh fruit......or wuz it something else.

Anyway, my last detailing
