How to change Brakepad?

Is there an how-to on changing brakepad? Do i have to release the brake fluid prior to changing pads..\

2 Bolts on Caliper - push piston in w/ large Channel locks or a 'C' Clamp--Replace Pads !

You don't have to remove both caliper bolts. Just remove lower caliper bolt, pull caliper upward, replace pads, depress brake piston in the caliper, slide caliper back down, pull lower bolt back in and your done.

Do you have to turn the rotor when you do this or just slap on the pads and save some $

How do I push the the brake piston in the caliper? Once it's pushed in, does it come back out?

Just used a c-clamp. It'll hold the piston in. When you release the clamp, it'll come out.

Since it seems like you're fairly new to this, I'd highly suggest you get yourself at least a basic service manual. For simple maintenance a Haynes/Chilton manual will suffice. But if you want to do more advanced maintenance, there's no substitute for a Helms manual.

Do they even make a Helms manual for the 2nd generation TL? I've been looking everywhere and couldn't find it.

Try Helm Inc.

Just from doing a search on their site, they have a service manual for the 2nd gens
