how can I adjust belt tension?

from 2nd to 3rd when I'm running the car hard, I get a quick belt slip noise when I shift. Also get it from 3rd to 4th but not near as bad since I'm not really topping it out at that point.

Is there a way to adjust the tension on the belt? I've had that tensioner replaced twice in the past but now I'm not under warranty anymore (just over 50K).

Any suggestions would be great.

Usually when a part is replaced under warranty, the new part carries a warranty on its own from the day it was replaced. Depending on when it was last replaced, you could still be covered for the tensioner.

And I can't believe you had it replaced twice in 50k miles!! I have 38k on my '03, and my tensioner is still fine. There's really no great way to adjust it, since it's spring-loaded and adjusts itself. Are you sure it's not the belt that's going bad??

well, I hadnt even checked to see if its goin bad b/c it was replaced in the last time the tensioner was replaced so I was just assuming it was good. Guess I need to start there, then address the tensioner.

Yeah I cant believe this either!! 2 tensioners already!! crazy.

Thanks
