Hotter Spark PLugs

Time for another question. Does anyone know if hotter spark plugs do anything to a TL if a cool air intake has been installed? If I do upgrade my spark plugs, which brand should I go with?

2 things. those 2 have nothing to do with each other and the only reason you'd need a hotter spark would be if you had a turbo system...do you? will you?

Now, if you get a bigger spark, its a different story. Some say it adds 5hp...i havent seen proves though but, it does make a much more effective and faster combustion, maybe some extra power but most likely not 5.

This is one of the best if not the best place/price to get them:

Get the Denso iridum ones...everyone sais their the best

A spark is a spark. But a hotter plug releases the heat within to the cylinder head and water jacket more slowly than stock, conversly a colder plug releases it more quickly. You do not want to change your heat range. Get the Denso's that are recomended. Changing heat range is necessary when adding ALOT of fuel (and therefore engine output). In the old days but now so much now when you had an old engine that burned oil and fouled plugs you could go one step hotter - that would burn off the oil sooner. Colder is for race purposes mostly.

On the contrary, If you have a turbo set up, you typically go with a colder plug, not a hotter one. I run NGK plugs in all my cars. They make the best power on the dyno. And they are only $2 a piece to boot. I run the 8 heat range in the Crx's and 11 in the TL.
