Honda Dw-1
Honda Dw-1
I`m not happy or confident in this oil working in my new transmission...The guy at the counter of a local Honda dealership told me that it`s a synthetic blend with cleaners in it.
I`m looking for an alternative to the Dw-1 most definitely a full synthetic. The only ones I know about are Mobil-1 or Amsoil.
Note: New remanufactured transmission from Honda and the new torque converter.

If you have ANY doubts about your tranny fluid, stick with DW-1. That is absolutely the safest fluid you can run. You will never have any problems because of the DW-1 fluid.
The problem is the trans design, not the fluid. DW-1 is an excellent fluid, and you should have nothing but confidence in it.
If you begin to doubt the tranny itself (which you should), you can experiment with synthetics. Stick to Amsoil Redline, as it seems to be the most tested.

Good to know Skirmich I have DW-1 in mine now, it was change when i bought the car. I get AMSOIL at a good discount but didn't really think it was right for the TL. I definitely will not be using it now!!!
