Honda DOHC Engines...

Is it true that all Honda DOHC engines are made in Japan because there are no facilities here in the US or Mexico? I heard someone say that Honda is bringing over machines capable of producing DOHC motors...thus a price drop could be seen in DOHC equppied cars....

The only vehicles Honda/Acura make that have a DOHC valvetrain are the CRV, Passport, S2000, RSX, and NSX.

The Passport is made in the US by Isuzu, so that doesn't really count. All of the other cars are made in Japan, with the exception of the RSX, which is made in Japan and the US. I assume that the cars made in Japan also have the engines made in Japan (there would be no incentive to do otherwise).

The only oddball is the RSX, but it is reasonable to believe that since they also make the car in Japan that maybe they make all the engines there and just ship the extras to the US to put in the ones made here.

I do know that the Odyssey and MDX have their engines made in the same plant that assembles the vehicle, but I don't know if Honda does the same for their other vehicles.

Like I said, it is made in Japan and the US, at least according to Edmunds.
