So I finally get my lazy but to the track for some drag-racing (not the TL, the talon) and I start talking to this guy there with a 2001 AMG CLK, bone stock, says it's his first time at the track, so being the experienced racer I am (not) I give him some pointers. He didn't remove the spare, didn't deflate any air from his rear tires, no race gas, just went to the line. His first run, he runs a 13.7 !!!!! DOH!!
I had no idea those cars were that fast. And it looked sweet as hell, w/ a great interior.
I didn't see how he did on his second run b/c I was busy re-tightening a blown intercooler pipe

 

WOW.....those Benz are fast.

 

Damn, a first timer at the track and running 13.7. Imagine if he actually gets better and prep his car before running.......maybe mid to low 13s!

 

Those suckers cost 70 grand or something stupid.
I think almost every new AMG runs mid to high 13's.
And since they're all automatics... it's kinda easy.

FYI, E55 can run low 13's. CLK being lighter than E55 with same engine, I wouldn't be surprised if that CLK gets 13-flat(or even high 12's) with GOOD driver and sticky tires.
