HKS Turbo Setup

Anyone know what type of manifold setup HKS used on their v6 accord?. From the picture of the engine setup it looks as if they just used the rear 3 cyls to spool the turbo and left the front stock? Anyone know for sure??

Is HKS making a turbo setup for the 3.2 TL-S by any chance?

That would be nice! Do you think they would consider producing it if we had enough people signing a petition to do so?

it'd be nice, from the prices i've gotten, a custom system could cost up to $10k

If they are just using the rear 3 cyls. Then a turbo kit would be easy to produce and cheap!!! I could make that turbo manifold easily. Maybe Ill try that over the winter. Does Acura sell the exhaust manifold flange? That would make it a ton easier. If there was more space in the front a twin turbo setup would be easy.

Imho, this engine is for show. Look at the stock header.
Ive seen several V6 accords at import shows with turbos that are non-operating ( they had all the fabricated piping and everything w/ huge T66 turbos HAHA )

You could easily turbocharge your TL but why would you do such a thing ?

That would put tremendous wear and tear on your engine and transmission.

It would be fun while it lasted

maybe turbocharging a 6 speed 2004 TL would be a wiser decision. ( low boost )

I know right, Just imagine what that would make with the 3.2 motor and a little more boost and gas

if you could find some one to make you 2 LOG type exhaust manifolds, the rest would be fairly easy

more room is easy...stick the battery in the trunk and the stock airbox has got to go anyway..their is a ton of room up there...

What is the compression ratio on the 3.0L? In a Type S, 8 lbs p.s.i. could do bad things. In California especially, with our lousy 91 octane gas. I guess the other factor is C.A.R.B. certification. Your mileage may vary.

Regarding that article, Sport Compact Car also had an issue in 98 or 99 regarding that same project car(I have the old mag but have to locate it). Basically, I remember reading the article and SCC reported that although it had great potential, they kept hearing "snap, crackle, pop" on the tranny at WOT. Therefore, HKS decided to drop the project due to big tranny issues.

Prototype Racing in LA made just this 1 custom turbo. He has also been working on the prototype racing headers that were suppose to be out like 4 years ago. I went to a group meet with the Accord V6 members to Protoytype racing...it was a waste of time.
