Hit and run

Today, I became an unfortunate victim of a hit and run. My car was parked in a lot while I was in class. It looks like the front bumper will need to be replaced (i know how expensive honda parts are...ouch!) also looks like the passenger side headlight and the grill shifted out of place. im angry that this had to happen at all, nevertheless after i spent 6 hrs on saturday washing, waxing, buffing the outside and detailing the inside. while i realize that mistakes happen, im more angry that the person didn't leave a note with at least his/her name and phone number. this whole thing gets me thinking about the irresponsible nature of such people and their lack of care for the property of others.

sorry for the long post...i just needed to vent...by the way, my dad has gotten his car repaired twice at a bodyshop near my house and they did a good job both times...but im not sure if i should get the work done at acura, instead, just to be safe. any opinions? thanks in advance.

Sucks to hear about that man..... but my suggestion is don't take it to Acura....all they are gonna do is take your car to some cheap shop. I recommend a body shop you have had experience with like the one your dad went to. Good luck.

I can, because it's happened to me FOUR times. Yes, it's amazing how rude, inconsiderate, and selfish some people can be. Even though insurance picked up the tab, I was still stuck with the deductables and the knowledge that my cars weren't factory-perfect any more. I feel for you...

As for the body shop, I would check out both the Acura place and the one your dad used. See which one you're more comfortable with. Also, your insurance may have something to say about it. They can't force you to use their shop, but they can limit their payment to whatever estimate their shop comes up with. Good luck, and maybe you can feel just a tiny bit of relief knowing that you're not the only person things like this happen to.
