HID Turning PINK WTF?????
Ok so I brought my car in the garage, with my headlights on, and noticed that the drivers side color was a little off. So i turned off my fog lights and then..... I saw it. It was fuckin pink. The passenger side is still blueish white, but the drivers side... like I said it's pink.
What kinda shit is that. Is the bulb going out, these things cost like 130 a pair. If it is going out at least I have an excuse to buy some 6k hids. Anyway, I really don't want to be driving with a pink freakin headlight. It's like my car has pink eye.
Someone please let me know if this has happened to you or if you have heard this happening and if you know of any possible solutions.
Thanks in advance and please help me fix the pink eye.
BTW: I did do a search and was unseccsful in finding the same problem. I know that they fade a little when they warm up and that's not what it is, so please don't respond with that. Thanks.

Now that i have fogs I'll will use them less often. I would drive with them on during the day because I live in the desert and there are a lot of accidents on the road I drive to work caused by cars trying to pass and not seeing oncoming traffic.
Well that was probably more than what you wanted to hear, but basically I will try to drive with them less until I can find 130 to buy some new ones. Thanks for your help guys.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's going out... I mean really? You still on OEM bulbs??
There supposed to last a few years, so $130 for a pair of bulbs over several years isn't that bad. I'd end up replacing my halogen bulbs every 4 or 5 months on my last car... friggin nutts! Gotta love the HIDs, even if they do come with a price tag.
I have 1 spare 4300K bulb, left over from my last car... won't match 5000K, but at least it ain't "friggin pink". LOL They're D2S right? (noob ... I haven't even looked yet)
P.s. You must drive the 138 often, huh? "Blood Alley!"
I just use the back roads. Safer, and you can drive faster!

I'm not too sure but I think they are D2R's and they are 4300k. if you do have the right one how much do you want for it.
I was gonna go for the pink theme but it totally would not match my shoes so I gotta change it.
and yeah I used to drive the 138, but now I drive El Mirage and have seen more accidents and dead people on that road then I did on the 138. Ave O is nice though, I got up to 140 right there past lake la.

Do a search in the photo galleries. There are a ton of pics of these. In fact, I have some pics when I had mine for sale at one point. Do a search for my user name! The 6000Ks are slightly less bright than the stock 4100K bulbs. When I'm driving on concrete roads, they look pretty bright. On blacktop roads, they are less bright than my HID 4100K fogs.

Geez I feel like the guys in that tread you gave me. Torn between the two. So 4300k is the best for visibility and 6000k is for looks. Well..... who really needs to see that good when they are driving anyway..... right?
I'll see if I can get a replacement bulb for cheap from one of the members above, then I will decide what I wanna do about the 6000k. Thanks for the thread.

Sell your pink HID on ebay as "rare JDM pink HID bulb." You know some girly ricer is gonna buy it.
I'd stay away from ebay for buying replacement HID bulbs cuz you don't know the quality and there are fakes floating around. PM: Excelerate, our sponsored seller, and he'll hook you up with quality stuff. Check out his group buy thread:

Have you evr heard of hidking.com they have 5500k hids. would that be like the median between the 4300 and 6000. Would that anser all the problems in the world concerning the differnece between the two. I have I just saved the entire acurazine website from boggling their brains with such tough decisions........ok maybe I'm giving myself to much credit.

Remember, you MUST replace HID in pairs. HID bulbs "color shift" after about 100 hours or so of use. So, if you replace just one, they will not match. I would go with the Philips 5000K bulbs. They are already "color matched" and from what I understand are very white. But, all experts and tests have proven that stock 4100K bulbs from Philips or Osram will provide you the most useable light on the road. I'm thinking of taking out my 6000K bulbs and putting back in my 4100K Philips bulbs until I move to Atlanta. They have more concrete streets down there I believe that will make the light more noticable for visability. Here in CO, they use pretty much all blacktop. That mixed with the yellow street lights drown out my 6000K light output.

Ok this is really wierd. Yesterday my drivers side was pink and the passenger side was fine. And today it's the complete opposite. The passenger side is extremely pink. As if it is going to go out within a few hours. But the driver side is fine.
I'm gonna post pics in a minute...... stay tuned.
TL Sport. I gotta see that Type S of yours. And we definitely gotta race. I wonder how I stand against an S. I tried to race one a couple of month ago, with exhaust and some big ass decal on the back window, but I think I scared him, cause he dipped down some street and disappeared.

For those whos hids are going out/ turning pink, how many miles do you have on your car? how often do you drive with your lights on? Right now I never ever turn off my headlights, I have like 14,000 miles on my car.

Dude my car has 150900 miles and I don't know if they have ever been changed. I used to drive with them on all the time because of the road I drive on. But I dont anymore. I would suggest not driving with them on all the time unless of course you have the cash to spend buying new lights which aren't cheap.
