Hey guys,I have a 2003 acura tl. I was having problems with my hidextra hids. So I figured I use a relay to bypass these problems. Now I have everything hooked up. I have two wires connected from the relay to each ballast then positive wire to battery and neg to battery. There is one more wire coming from the relay. I'm pretty sure it has to be connected to the original factory wire harness. Can I cut the adapter on the relay in order to splice it to the factory wire harness? Thank you for the help

Why is that the relay works with my hids but when I don't use it only one light works/ or other problems. Everyone said with a 2003 acura tl they didn't need to use one. I just don't get it. One problem I'm having with the relay is when I turn the lights off and back on, one light turns on. Hopefully when I wake up in the morning the lights work lol. Thamks
How did you wire up?
You only need 1 signal for the relay regardless of what side it comes of.
Relay wires:
Main positive goes to both ballasts that comes from the battery main
Ground goes to chassis (You ground both ballast to chassis too)
The bridge comes from the positive wire that comes from the OEM ballast lead (Ballast lead ground goes un-used) and the bridge ground goes to chassis.
Just use 1 OEM Ballast lead, one side remains unplugged.
I would really like to see if I'm hooking everything up ok because I recieved a new kit from hidextra and I must be doing something wrong. Even though both times I had the lights working for the first day or two. I also bought a relay to see if that would help. So from the relay there are 5 wires that need to be connected. I have the positive lead( from relay) to battery. Neg lead to battery. I cut off the adapter and spliced to factory wiring harness. And then one wire to ballast and other to other ballast. Would there be a problem by hooking up neg leads to the battery instead of chassis? Do you see any problems in my connections? I posted a pic of the adapter I cut off and spliced to factory wiring.i have my ballast screwed in with the double sides tape like in the pic I posted( same spot), how do you ground the ballast?

Here are the connections from relay that I can get to right now. It's a pic of pos and neg to battery and the adapter I cut and spliced to factory wiring

Don't ground directly to the battery, there's many places where you can connect it. Look for a screw with contact to bare metal.
I've had no luck with relays, resistors, decoders, etc
I've also come to the conclusion that HID for my DRL/High beams will never work for me.
Picked the brains of many electronic guys @ the stores I frequent, none have found a solution for me. End of the days everyone suggest halogens. Lol
