HID Question

Searched and found some good materials on how to change the bulb, so with that went to change the passenger side HID bulb yesterday. Removed the bolt holding the washer fluid tube and pushed that aside and unscrewed the black plastic cap covering the HID assembly. Now, the retaining clip that holds the bulb in the headlight is my problem..... when I unhooked it, it snapped in 2 pieces. Just called the dealer and was told that they do NOT sell the clips seperately, that I have to buy an entire assembly. I was like WTF?? I have to spend 200 bucks for that??

Anybody else break one and find a way to secure the bulb in the housing using some other method? I guess my next step is to be searching junkyards for one, but god knows if I'll be able to locate one.

Thanks in advance

Ok, dont worry just get yourself a thickpaper clip and use pliers to shape it into the factory retainer clip, i have done that before and it works just as good ..

you could just tape it.

Tape will not do it. I broke mine too. I did use a paper clip and it held. I ended up buying another lense from ebay and replaced the clip that way. good luck

Do you still need the clip? I got two that i pulled out of my current headlights because they will be replaced by 4 projectors in the headlights. So PM me if you still need one.
