HID Problems in Orlando
Hey guys,
So after clearing my headlights on Easter of this year, my passenger's side HID finally kicked the bucket. I guess I didn't seal it properly, and there was water in it. It was working on and off a week ago, and hasn't worked for a week. So I brought it into the STEALERSHIP at Courtesy Acura in Sanford, where they diagnosed a bad ballast/inverter. The bulb and ignitor are fine. I know I need a new headlamp assembly. So when they totalled the parts up it was gonna be like 209 for the actual housing, and 467 for the inverter. I went ahead and ordered the parts online and got everything for 460 and some change. But the problem is.... the drivers side headlamp is cleared, and I don't want the car to look uneven, with one side having the orange reflector, and on not. The other thing is, the dealership wants to charge me 2 hours of labor at like 85 bucks an hour to install the new headlamp. If I had the tools I'd just do it myself. So I'm torn... what should I do about the uneven headlamps, should I go buy the tools and do it myself (Or maybe someone in the Orlando area with proper tools wouldn't mind helping a poor Delta flight school student out), or should I just buy the left headlamp assembly and revert back to stock housings? What a pain in my ass. So... what do you all think? And for those of you that live here in Central Florida - I live in Sanford/Heathrow area, I-4 at 417. I was really missing my dealership in Atlanta today - Acura Carland... they are by far the best. These people down here are just awful!
