Hid problem - one headlight flickers than shuts off, the other works fine. I've had this problem in the past and it's always been the ballast or bulb. I always keep back up new ballasts \ bulbs for testing and the flickering is constant in the old and new equipment. I even tried testing new 35 and 55w bulbs and ballasts all with the same result -- the HID bulb flickers for a few seconds making a burning noise and shuts off. I checked my fuses and all are fine. Could this be a lightning relay given the bulb does it ignite but shuts off immediately? Or is this without a doubt a grounding or bad wiring harness problem? I bad with electrical and it looks like the previous owner spliced the wiring kit into battery wires to provide direct power.

it's definitely not a fuse, maybe your spare ballast is also bad

I have 3 spare ballasts (even different watt 35 and 55v and the behavior remained the same -- flicker for a second, go out.
