HID problem

I purchased a 2002 TL-S about three weeks ago.

When i bought the car, I noticed that the passenger side low beam was missing. I didn't think this was any big deal. How much could a light cost anyway?

If you know HID, then you already know the answer...but it was a big surprise to me. So, $100 later I have a new bulb.

But I started having problems immediately. Basically, when you turn the lights on, this one does not come on for about 10 minutes. Then it seems fine. If you turn the lights off and then back on...you have to wait about 10 minutes again.

Now, I know there is a problem with the TL lights, but before I start removing the bumper and playing around with stuff, I was hoping someone might have an idea of exactly what is misbehaving.

Thanks.

please see the numerous light threads for details
basically you need a new kit with ballast and ignitors plus the bulbs- you can use the bulbs you got
water drips out of the light housing onto the ballast and kills it
we all suffer this prob
www.hidextra.com has a kit for us for 59$!!! (with 2 bulbs) minus 10 percent coupons found online
call for best service and mention acurazine

suggest 5000k color bulbs and standard 35 watts ballast
minor surgery to install- not a big deal

welcome to azine!

always replace bulbs in pairs to maintain brightness and color match
do both ballast as the other will fail in a while~

4 new bulbs in taillights wont hurt either

best to just swap out the oem parts with an aftermarket kit. it works out cheaper in the long run.
