I have had my TL since last april and I have noticed that since then the color of both headlights has changed. They used to have a bluish tint. Now when I switch on my lights, they stay blue for about 6-8 seconds then slowly become white, and then stay white. I have seen many TL's on the road and ALL of them have the bluish tint to their headlights. Is this normal?

 

I've noticed that the color depends upon viewing angle and viewing distance for HID's. Audi is real bad for this - my mom's A6 and my cousin's S4 both have a wierd blue color when viewed at an angle. My old 2000TL headlights would be blue when they came on, but warm up to white. The blue would most likely indicate a cold element or uneven heating. I wouldn't worry - the bulbs are expensive, but shouldn't burn out - if they do, Acura should replace - they are NOT a wear-n-tear item.

 

ok cool thanks, I'm glad it's not a defect or any thing...I would not want to have to replace the headlights.

 

also once the bulbs burn for about 100 hours the bluish color goes away and turns whit. From far away you can still see the blue though. If you get the 6000k bulbs they make a big difference. My lights go from blue at cold and pruple at warm up. They put out way more light and look hella cool.
