Hid fog lights?

Im planning on changing out my fog lights on my tl this week, once its back home. I have these xantec ones but they are annoying since one will come on and second wont. Gotta keep trying about 2 or 3 times. Im looking at ddm, raptor, and this ebay brand ive used before. Ebay brand, 56 bucks with a year warranty. Guy stands by his product and ships fast and reliable warranty. Never tried raptor or ddm but heard good things, so far. Which would be a good idea to go with? I plan on ordering two kits. One for tl and one for bmw. What do you guys say? Which is more reliable and worth the money.

Ebay kit - $56 Shipped
Raptor kit - About $50 shipped
DDM - $ 90 shipped

60 bucks may sound good but i dont want to end up with the hids flickering. Thats why im trying to find brands that i can trust. The xantecs i have flicker when coming on. I leave my hids on so when i start the car via remote one of them ends up staying off.

My friend used to be a manager at ddm tuning, i bought a kit and 4 extra bulbs cuz i got tired of 4 6000k's so i got 3000k's... they work perfectly fine. the 9006 kit might need to be altered a bit, switch the neg with pos i think.

I have xentechs too, and I found that the harness has to be SNUG to the ballast. Mine were doing that at first too, then I tightened the plug connector.

I don't have any problems now when I unlock the doors (they both turn on), nor turning the lights on/off.

yo, our new vendor has them for $60..just get those. I got a set off ebay (seller is KICKXTC) and it is $58 shipped! I got the wife a 5000K set for her headlights and they look amazing. Shipping is two days flat!! I couldn't be more happy with the ebay lights. I also bought a pair of 3000K yellow 9006 bulbs for my HID Fogs for $22 for the pair and the yellow is really nice!!

By the way, if you haven't done the fog mod v2.0 you need to. I had the same problem and since re doing the mod the "right" way, no more flicker and i can use my fogs stand alone with no lights and they shut off with the car and when high beams are on..perfect!!! Can I get an amen on v2.0 fog mod people??

i have 3000k in them now.....sure, they're fog lights when there's fog out, the other 99% of the time you could call them driving lights.

They are so cheap it probably doesn't matter, a couple years ago kits would cost like $400 or so. To troubleshoot your current set.... have you tried swapping them? Check the connections and depending on how they are set up, they may not be getting enough juice to fire up.

Since you have to try a couple of times, I really think they arent getting enough juice.... either a connection is loose or if they are both going through the same relay, then the relay might not be able to provide enough current to the second HID. Wires could be thin or old and look burnt over time.

never~! 4300k actually has the most light output, which is the stock kelvin temp for our hid low beams.anything lower and higher has less output... 5000k is perfect. that with 3000k fogs is win.

Aren't the xantecs like $80 or so on eBay? From my experience is it usually because they don't get enough current to fire up and they flicker or if the connection is loose and they flicker.

For maximum light output = 4300K Fogs and 4300K Headlights (basically tons of nice pure white light with OEM color)

As far as fog lights go

Best for open road night driving and noticing crackheads on the side of the road = 4300K HID white fogs

Best for fog/rain/snow and noticing crackheads with torn rainboots and ripped umbrellas = 3000K HID yellow fogs

I have both sets of color temps and I find the yellow 3000K looks great and lights up the road pretty good but the white 4300K shine a little wider and further out.

Hands down, 3000K yellows look the best during rain with that yellow reflecting back upwards from the street!

I agree, I love the yellow look but its not really yellow yellow is it? The vendor on this site only has 5000k would that be off from stock low beam when both of them on?

I ordered a kit for myself and my cousin. Both the kits act the same. I tried contacting the guy right after and never got a response. Ive tried hooking on a relay harness to help but had same issue.

One question, do the foglights still go off after a while if you turn off the car and leave? Still has the 15 seconds delay i think it is?

yes, this mod will use the fogs for the valet feature with fog mod v2.0 as long as headlight are on and they won't flash..only park lights will flash if headlight switch is left off when arming...
