Help, last night I was installing my new 6500k HID bulbs and the clip that holds the bulb in place on one side broke. I was not even being rough. I fashioned one out of a paper clip and it is holding, but I want to replace it asap.

Can anyone recomend a place to get a new one? PepBoys, Acura Dealership?

what part broke?

 

The part is a wire clip that holds the HID bulb in the socket. Not on the picture (I use Acura Carland for parts). It looks like I have to buy a whole head light (not gonna happen) or go to the junk yard.

 

have you called the dealer to see if its a part they can order

Sorry, as I know this is a old post, but I couldn't help it since I have the exact same problem. What ended up happening? Did you end up finding the clip, and where? I've tried the acura dealership, autozone, murrarys, a acura specialist mechanic. I lost the clip too, and tried to make it out of a paper clip, but its very loose. And now, everytime I turn the headlight on, (the passenger side - new bulb) the passenger side bulb just flickers for a second and turns off. The driver's side bulb is fine. Both bulbs are new. Any help at all would be very much appreciated.

 

i doubt you'll get an answer seing as he hasn't logged in since jan....but that part is attached to the headlight so i would guess that you would have to buy a new headlight or go to junkyard and get only that piece from the light.....
