i think i have decided on the 8500k but my new question is how much should they cost? I have seen them on ebay for as low as $8.99 and up to $200 for the bulbs. I know the ones that r $8.99 r probably those cheap bulbs from walmart that r just like blue christmas lights. i want the real ones for a good price.

Look man, just talk to me. I just installed a pair of KAIXEN 8500K HID Bulbs in my 99TL. You can order the same bulbs i got from EXCELERATE. He's a vendor on this forum. There $150 shipped to your door and there an excellent set of bulbs. Very nice quality for sure. Deffinitely not some kind of bullshit ass bulbs. If you would like to see how mine look, just take a look at my Pics from my Second Photoshoot i did. You can find my thread on the Photo Gallery's 1st page somewhat near the top. Its called, Photo Shoot #2.

Different companies rate their bulbs differently. Here is the Kelvin scale and it is using PIAA bulbs as a reference:
4300K is stock HID color on the Acura's and most OEM's. BMW slightly modifies their bulbs/system to make it appear around 5000K. So 6000K is extreme white, 6500K would be extreme white with violet tints, and 8500 would be extreme blue. The more Kelvin the more color, but there is less lumen (light) with more color.
In terms of where to get them you can get them from many different places but different bulbs are poor quality. I have tried a few different brands and have finally settled on a brand I love and use in my own car: KAIXEN The KAIXEN upgrade bulbs (D2C which will fit D2R and D2S) are $150 shipped and can be found in this link: https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/kaixen-hid-kit-groupbuy-330409/

All of the above are illegal and dimmer than stock - listen to Excelerate if you're smart.
The brightest is stock (4300k) and they will naturally get dimmer and bluer with usage. It has everything to do with the wear on the electrodes inside the capsule and how the arc changes shape between them over time. Eventually, 4300k headlights will look like 6000k if you use them long enough.
BTW - the only legal ones are 4300k. BMW etc do not use different lights on stock cars. The reason that their lights are bluer (depending on your viewing angle) again has everything to do with the light output along the arc inside the capsule and the optics used. Nobody would hassle you for 6000 - or probably even 8000k because stock headlights can appear like them depending on age, design (projector vs. reflector), and viewing angle.

I understand
I see what your saying but i wanted the 10000k and im satisfied. also i asked my nextdoor neighbor who is a cop and he told me that they are not illegal because most real high luxury cars have them and they can pass for stock. nobody's really gonna pull you over and say whats the tempeture of your headlights when they already know that most high luxury cars come with the brighter lights anyway. Now this might be different depending on where you live but in bmore murderland the last thing the cops are worried about is the temp of your lights.
But on a real note im not here to urgue so how is everyone doing?
