yeah, that just sucks....do it yourself don't take it to the dealer....after my foglight HID kit, i'll tell ya that the only way i'd recommend 8k to anyone is if they had matching HID foglights.....without that, it's just not enough light....i say go with something in the 4-5k range.....or 6k if you want that purple/blue look....

Don't go to dealer and pay that much for the bulbs.
I sell those genuine 4300k PHILIPS d2r or d2s bulbs.
I can do $65 shipped on a brand new pair of Philips d2r bulbs to tl forum people.
I think 4300k bulbs are the brightest, but if you are trying to get some purple and blueish look, you should go for philips 6000k bulbs, which cost over $240 a pair.
Let me know if interested in 4300k bulbs(oem version).
thanks

8,000k will burn your housing in the long run.
I would love to get Phillips or Omran 5300k or 6000k, I just dont know where to find a good deal on it, or a reliable source, any input will be very appriciated .........
How is PIAA in bulbs quality?

I don't think Piaa makes standard d2s or d2r bulbs for our tl's.
Most of hid equipped vehicles come with Philips or Osram 4300k bulbs.
I would get philips since the color is bluer and whiter than osram bulbs.
You should not get those bulbs with high kelvin rate, because I have never seen them lasting long enough. Also, the factory hid bulbs do not last forever. After using them for enough time, they will become much bluer, purple, pinkish color and blow out.
It is true that they last very long time, but not forever.

Akinaboy, are the 4300k bulbs brighter than the stock ones that we have on right now? Sorry, I'm a newb to this bulb game hehe. Also, how long do they last? If I was to get it, would I need to make any new modications to the headlights in order to fit these in?
Thanks.

If you get new ones, they should be brighter than your stock ones mainly because the bulbs get dimmer as they age. Both Philips and Osram 4x00 D2R bulbs are rated at 2800 lumens. They last around 2500 hours, YMMV. No modifications are necessary as long as you get D2R bulbs.
Here's some good reading if you're interested:

Corret.. What we have on our tl's is 4300k philips bulbs. Getting brand new bulbs will be brighter than our current used bulbs since the lumen goes down as they are used more.
No modification is needed. Just bulb out and bulb in.
thanks.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I installed the 4300K bulbs from Akinaboy. $68.00 shipped. Popped them in over the weekend and they work like a charm. Props to Mike for making HID bulbs affordable....

Thanks blinster.
good to hear that you like them.
I'm sorry guys about the delay on reply, but I guess the e-mail notification feature was turned off or something, because I did not get them..
ANyways, if anyone needs bulbs, I can do it for the same price $68 shipped on a pair of philips 4300k and $75 shipped on a pair of 5000k philips bulbs.
thanks.
