hey look at this

this question is in the wrong place but no one has answered it in wheel and tire catagory

I have had my chrome rims for about a year and kept them on all winter and never cleaned them to good. Now today i washed and waxed the whole car and it looks hot.

What do I use to Clean/protect the chrome rims???

When I bought the rims the guy told me to just use windex. They seem to be tarnishing. THis is my first set of rims I have ever owned and i dont think the windex is doing anygood.

hey go ahead and check out my pics of my rims too. I think you will like them.

Meguiars wheel cleaner - it is in a neon/clear pink spray bottle.

It is similar to some wheel acid I had years ago, smells the same.

spray it on and leave it for ten min. Then wash thoroughly with water. They will sparcle and shine like a mirror.

The stuff I got years ago was so strong if I left it in the spray bottle it would eat through the plastic components in the pump and wouldn't work twice. So I had to move it back from spray bottle to a larger jug (like a javex size bottle) and wash out the spray bottle with water. The Meguiars stuff smells the same but it comes in a spray bottle so it can't be as concentrated as the prior stuff I had but it works almost the same....AMAZING!!! good luckwith your shopping...

any wheel cleaner would work. For chrome you might want to use some wheel wax, that would not only clean them but protect them as well. Brake dust doesn't settle on them as easily and seeing your in PA, it would help protect it from salt when it snows.

No PHAT chrome!!! Just my opinion.... Soap and elbow grease works best on most wheels that I've cleaned.

Yo Nuc,
I live in Philly too and if I were you I would definetly consider putting your stockers back on in the winter around here. I know its hard going from chrome to stock(trust me I do it every year) but I think it will protect your investment in the long run. I always try to put mine on around the beginning of April, but thats even iffy now seeing that it snowed here just last week. But I am going to put mine on this weekend, hopefully after I get my D/S rotors put on Friday and get my thang back to lookin the way it I want it to.
